After the 15 minute warm up it works great warding off misquotes. As long as there is no wind to put out the pilot light. Smaller than I realized makes easy transport. Too bad it doesn't work on flies.
Our family went camping on the coast of Florida. I was told this was a definite way to keep mosquitoes away. Skeptically bought. Upon arrival we were swarmed with mosquitoes and their friends! Started 2 Thermacells and before we finished setting up camp we were no longer being bitten. Before the week was over we ran out of refills. Fast trip to local Walmart and everyone was happy for the remainder of the trip! There are 8 people that use Thermacell when outdoors! No stinky chemical spray on skin anymore!
This is very effective. Our mosquitoes are very aggressive and after letting this run for 15 minutes before being near it allows me to sit outside in my backyard on a nice day.
This was my life saver this summer as I had spent more time by our swimming pool than previously due to COVID restrictions. Previous years, I was eaten alive outside, but nope, not this past summer when I bought this and used it every time I was outside. I knew this worked when there was ONE day I did not use it and that was the ONE day I was bitten.
Works surprisingly well. Better than all alternatives I've tried.
I was renting a place on thr beach, and I somehow got a mosquito in my VRBO. The bug was literally feasting on me every time I walked in the door and I would wake up with bites!! This handy little unit worked like magic - the minute I vrought it home from the store the bites stopped. It was a lifesaver and allowed me to enjoy the remainder of my trip. Thanks for this awesome invention.
still undecided on these. bought them for camping and bingo while camping. If there is ONE mosquito in the entire state IT WILL FIND me and call its friends and family for a feast while leaving everyone else alone !! No one else even SEES a mosquito while I turn into a human food fest !! The fuel cells seems to last as long as stated... but the little blue pads turn full white after 2-3 hours NOT 4 as posted..... thats sad. I stay within the zone and If I have to move I carry the things with me.... I don't know what else to do. there is a little "smoke" coming from them and you kinda smell it but its not hideous like citronella. YMMV... give them a try.
This small, lightweight canister sits relatively unobtrusively on the patio table. It is easy to light, and has done so consistently since I got it about a month ago. It takes 10 or 15 minutes for the repellent to start to fend off mosquitoes. It lasts about 10 to 12 hours. I wish I would have bought the larger repellent but for now this works well inside our mosquito-netted gazebo.
the fuel source supposed to last 12 hours. Mine lasted maybe 4 hours. Very unsatisfied with @Thermacell. Wasted money.
