First, this light is almost as big as a duffle bag, but does come with its own shoulder strap! Second, it is bright enough to see the orbiting space station! I have never ever had or seen a brighter light! If you want a bright light? This is it!
The Cyclops Thor x is one amazing spotlight. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for some power in the woods, a field, around the home or what ever you may doing. This thing really does pack a punch and it does not make you feel poor after buying it because the price is decent.
Beam is very bright and circular. (My previous Cyclops had a + shaped beam.) Unit is relatively large, but I knew that. I use it to check for critters before I let my dogs out, and it easily lights the far corners of the yard (300').
Oh my, what a light. If you want to come out of the darkness, this is the light for you. It has a beam that will shine 1/4 mile away. It has 2 settings that allow you to either pinpoint or cast a wide beam. Which is nice depending on what job you are doing. I like how it is rechargeable from either your home or your vehicle. The photo is a little deceiving on just how big it is. Good thing it comes with a shoulder strap, because you are going to need it. I would definitely check the weight and measurements before I purchased this light. When I took mine out of the box, I could not believe just how big it was. When they say colossus, they aren't joking. If you want a lot of candle power, you are going to have to pack a big light. I would definitely recommend this light to anyone. I tried cheaper lights and none compare to the Cyclops. Everyone needs one of these lights.
This light is big but it shines bright and far, I love the light bought one for my boss for Christmas he liked it so I bought one for me it was broke and Walmart replaced it with no problem, now I'm buying one for my son's birthday.
I am very surprised at how tight the beam is and how long the battery lasts. Glad I purchased this light. I do wish the on/off switch was more ergonomic and located in a better place.
What a flashlight!!!!!! Lights up my whole back yard completely. Have shown this to several friends already and to the Super of the school I work at to use in case of power outage.
I knew going in that this would be oversized and was not disappointed. Too big for my wife to use however so will be getting a smaller one for her. Brightness -wise, its a bit brighter than my 2M candlepower Stanley handheld, but not much. Its a keeper tho as I was expecting the size after reading the other reviews. Good conversation piece too lol. Bought it for spotting critters in the woods out back.
Battery dies after only short use. Surprised at how fast it dies. I bought it new and use in the yard briefly each night (5-8 minutes). In three outings roughly 20 minutes of usage the battery is dead.
I purchased this spotlight by Cyclops approximately a year ago. I have used it three/four times. I went to use it again this week and it won't turn on. I tried calling Cyclops and their Customer Service number was busy 24/7 for three days straight! I ended up sending them an email. Another week went by and no response; I wrote them again. Still nothing.... bottom line is the spotlight worked great but if you need replacement parts like a battery or bulb forget it.
