I haven't baked with it yet, but it is quite heavy and should bake evenly. While I didn't mind, some may, the dish I received was black on the inside as well. Still striking with the gold banding on the rim.
This is a beautiful ‘oven to table' pie dish. I was originally undecided about the mat black and gold border but I think the simplicity will highlight the pie or tart. It is heavy. It will definitely attract attention as a dessert centerpiece.
The item description shows black stoneware pie dish with a white interior and gold trim. The item I received was completely black with a satin black trim around the rim. I would've preferred the white interior, but as this piece matches the 2 piece bakeware set I also purchased, I was satisfied.
I ordered this about a month ago which arrived shattered (shout-out to the distribution center... "PACK BETTER"!). Thankfully Walmart provided a full refund so I ordered it again. Im surprised the second one was intact because it wasn't packed much better, but just enough. Anyway, its a beautiful piece being rustic and fancy all at once! I bought the ramekins as well, and am just wait for the brownie pan to get back in stock... what's taking so long???
I like the pan. The gold trim is classy. My only complaint is that it is solid black and doesn't have the white interior like the pictures. I really wanted that version so it can match all my other Thyme and Table bakeware that is black/white. It'll still look nice just not as nice as I wanted
The first one arrived with an imperfection in the glaze on the outer rim. Not sure if it was a chip or just missing glaze but I didn't want it as such so I returned it. Considering it was made in China I was hesitant at first to get a replacement (half-expecting to get something even worse) but the replacement looked fine. Compared to scamazon WalMart's replacement/return method was 100% hassle-free and didn't require my having to schlepp it somewhere to drop off.
i have ordered from this product line before, and the items have very limited durability. they have good price and appearance but this is useless if they don't last. especially since these are somewhat durable goods (cups, baking dishes, etc) that should be around my house for a few years at least.
It's a nice pie pan and I look forward to using it, but I would like it better if the inside was actually light-colored instead of black. Why is the picture on Walmart's website different than what I actually received?
I ordered this item because to be delivered from the store because it was out of stock and the first time it was delivered without packaging and scratched and dirty. I returned it and ordered another one and that arrived chipped. I finally found one a too town that was pristine but Walmart sucks on their packaging and the drivers don't care for fragile items.
I received this in tiny pieces. They set the dish at the bottom of a large box and put some plastic on top. When the box was delivered, it was completely crushed and the dish didn't have a chance just placed into an oversized box like it was. It's shattered. I wouldn't recommend ordering this online.
