This is the greatest watch I have ever owned. Infact this is my second. First one sprung a leak after a battery change. This watch does everything but go to appointments for me. Alarms, timers, reminders, birthdays, memos, appointments, phone numbers, even football and baseball schedules. And fully progamable too. Even some games you can download. Its only draw back it sucks down batteries like an electric car. Every 5 to 6 months and you need to be fairly skilled at tiny little screws to change it out. Thats all. Its Like a PDA on your strapped to your wrist and if your absent minded like me it won't walk off like your phone/PDA.
This watch is easy to program and it is very useful for helping to remember important dates. It is also very convenient to have all important phone numbers right at my fingertips. This is my second one. I work in a factory setting and am pretty rough on watches. The first one wore out after 5 years.
I owned one of these prior to this one but when I had the battery changed at a jeweler, they didn't put it back together right. I went swimming and it filled with water. So I looked long and hard to find something as good or better and there wasn't anything. So I bought the same one again - should say something. I travel a lot and having 3 timezones was a plus. Also having repeatable alarms like anniversary, B-days, etc is great.
This watch is extremely useful to us forgetful Old Guys. It's a PDA, and it's on my wrist so it can't get lost. It keeps track of things and appointments I need to attend to during the day, as well as phone numbers (towing services, work numbers, etc.) I sometimes need in a hurry. This watch is so useful that I've found every single time I decide to wear a fancier watch, I end up sorry because I need the functionality of my Timex. You will need to replace the wrist band occasionally, or buy the all-metal one, and expect to replace the watch itself every two years or so (I'm on my third in 8 years).
Ihave purchased many other pda's, watches and other gadgets claiming to help keep your life organized and on time but none were up to the task! I have owned other organizer/watches from various manufactures and was not impressed with the fucntions and controls as well as the layout and programability . Well that was then and this is now, I by chance saw the Iroman usb data link on the website while I was checking on the data bank(another maker) and started reading he specs ,functions, programability and found the Timex Iron man to be much superior. the watch is rugged, looks good and I love the fact that the desiners thought of making the No.s on the face big enough for easy reading and setting. The software that comes with the watch is straightforward and works great! . It is a simple task to update and make changes and input new data to the watch via the USB cable. I love the Multiple times and alarm functions and the occasion reminders mean that birthdays ,anniversaries, and holidays dont get missed! I use this watch daily! I dont leave home without it! at my work I need to be able to track several different events at the same time and have access to certain data and login and password scripts, WITH THIS WATCH I can take it ALL with me! I recently went to an Meeting in San Francisco and my cell phone died! All I had to do was goto the contacts in the phone and called ahead to let the others at this meeting know I would be delayed! In the notes section of the watch I stored my room no# and confirmation order number and was able to check into the Hotel with no other ID! This is my kinda watch/pda/organizer! I will be buying a 2nd watch! but all I can say is great watch !!!
Have had many Timex watches but this was my first Data Link. It is very intuitive when using the online program.and I was very impressed with the 'Occasion' function. When you enter a birth date, it will return the name, date, and age of the person you have entered. Very easy to read.
I have had one of these watches since they first came out. The first one you would hold the watch in front of your computer and the computer would flash a bunch of lines and download into the watch using an electronic eye on the watch (no USB cable). I like the new one better. My only problem is that the watch band breaks every now and then and I usually have to order one online because no one carries one in stock. I have really impressed some people when I went looking for a phone number in my watch!! Keep up the good work Timex!!!
I love the functions on this watch. I don't like the cheap, plastic case, crystal, & band. I would pay more for a watch with the functions of this one, but made from more durable materials.
I like this watch because it has so many features. It is programable and can be set and programmed by your computer. The one downside is battery life. I am currently using my second Ironman Datalink. My first one stopped working after I replaced the battery for the third time. I improperly seated the water resistant o-ring and it leaked. The first one lasted about two years but the batteries only last about 6 months to a year.
As I expected for Timex, another great product. With all the many functions and versatility, this makes it great for multi-scheduling between school, work and my busy life style. This watch is the perfect tool to use with my cellphone and computer. I give theTimex Ironman Data Link USB Watch, two thumbs up.
