Easy on setting up the date and time! Alarm is easy setting off an on. The buttons are not hard to press. Easy to read instruction.
Got this for my grandson - didn't like the "boys" watches. It looks nice, he loves it. (10yo).
the only problem i can say is that it came with no little instruction sheet. the alarm goes off every morning at 10:06am and i cant get it to stop. i have tried every combination of button pushing
I love all of Timex's sports watches. This one works great and fits well. The Wal-Mart price is excellent. The band appears to be white in the picture but it is grey. I read the description over and over to see if it ever said what color the band was before buying and unless I'm just missing it, I didn't find a color listed so I was hoping it was white like the picture. Oh well... I like the grey fine, just wished it was white.
My daughter purchased the lime green model with her birthday money. Unfortunately, the instruction sheet ended up in the watch. When she asked me to help change setting back from military to regular time, I went looking for the manual. The one listed on Timex under the Sports 1440 did not match. However, when looking under the 504- series, I did find the following one which is close, just calls the set button "Adjust": http://assets.timex.com/user_guides/W163_M504/W163_M504_NA_EN.pdf No other issues to report of just yet, but then again, it was under $20 and she hasn't had it long.
I was very happy with this watch, until the wristband broke. It was only about nine months after I bought it, and I had my receipt (a miracle), so I was able to exchange it for another one. The same thing happened to the replacement. After about eight months this time, the band broke in the same place, where the band meets the watch. There is just a flaw in the way the band is attached to the watch. I wasn't very happy with the response I received from Timex, either. They said that I could send the watch to them, at my expense, and they would repair or replace it IF they determined that it was a defect. So I would be without my watch until they figured it out and if they decided it wasn't their fault, I would be without it anyways. No thanks. So much for "it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'." Well, I guess technically the watch was still tickin', but a lot of good it did me, I couldn't wear it anymore!
Pros: Cheap. Has a light (which I love). Cons: Cheap. Not water resistant. Wrong manual (tricky to set watch without). I needed an inexpensive watch for work and having had a Timex watch many years ago, I bought this model. Out of the box, I realized the manual included was for a different Timex model than 1440. It took a little fidgeting to get set the watch, it is not as intuitive as one would think. Fast forward 1 month I started to notice water condensation inside the watch, significantly obstructing the time. Now, let me remind you that this watch is water resistant. I do not submerge the watch in water (ex. swimming) but I occasionally take showers with it on. Contacted Timex who wanted me to send the watch in as well as $7.00 repair fees. So let's recap: 1. Bought watch for $15.00 2. 1 month later, water condensation within water resistant watch. 3. Timex wants $7.00 to fix.
