I needed just one more section for my metal superyard, so I bought the extension kit. (A bit pricey for two sections, but I really needed the extra length.) Turns out that you have to connect two sections at a time in order for the gate to be screwed into the wall or make a play area as the fittings do not match up. To fix this you simply have to unscrew and remove the two fittings that don't match up and replace them with the fittings from the other gate piece. Easy fix, and your Superyard is the size you need! Love how high and sturdy this gate is.
We love this superyard. We had the plastic North States superyard to begin with but returned it for this metal superyard. The door functions so well on the metal yard, unlike the plastic yard. The door is very easy to operate while holding a baby and swings closed behind you. You can also keep the door open if you push it to its farthest open point. The openness of the bars allows me to see my little one easier and for her to see out and not feel so caged in, also unlike the plastic superyards. The area within this metal superyard is quite small without the two additional panels, but works well either way. We have one superyard upstairs without the additional panels where we spend less time, and another superyard with additional panels downstairs in the living room where we spend more time. The setup is very easy with just the twist of a bar to set panels in place. It is not terribly unattractive in our living room. It is a light taupe color. The only downside is it's not made in the USA like the plastic superyard, but this is the case with most all baby gates and superyards.
I use it as a portable fence in my backyard for my two small dogs. It keeps them safe and my neighbors happy. It is very easy to put together and strong enough for the job.
Solid gate extensions. Fits and expands my North States Baby 3in1 Metal Superyard
I purchased two expansion kits to create a large play space for younger children in my daycare. It is an exceptional product and if you are looking to increase the floor space for the children it is worth the money.
I have 3 year old and 3 month old daughters, a 9 month old niece that I keep during the day, and a 6 month old nephew that visits often. I thought putting gates up on the door frames of my large living room would keep the crawler safe, but she managed to find all electrical wires/outlets and every tiny crumb that the 3 year old leaves behind. Short of vacuuming several times a day and never leaving the living room, I needed an alternative. I purchased the Superyard from BabiesRUs and the extension gate from Walmart. The Superyard would be worthless without the extension! It is too small for a child and toys otherwise. The gate and extension is sturdy, so that the older kids cant get to the babies. The vertical bars allows for the babies to see out and feel like they're part of the fun (some yards have only small holes for the baby to see through). My niece LOVES her superyard!!! I snapped toys around the top bar for her to pull up and reach for. My 3 year old sits with her and hands her toys through the bars, but can't step on the baby or hurt her accidentally. And I'm comfortable washing dishes or tending to my infant without worrying about my niece's safety! The extension had one tiny piece that had to be adjusted by my husband to put it together. It was a simple fix, so I didnt bother to call the company about the error. The actual assembly of the superyard and the extension is very, very simple. You basically set it up, then twist and pull the bars to lock it into place. The gate door is tricky to open and close, which is great because it is toddler-proof!
I'm really glad we decided to order this extension along with the play yard. It definitely increases the size of the play yard enough to make it worth the purchase price.
Was easy to put together and perfect for pets!
We bought the extension so that we could extend across a long span. So far we have used it only as a self-contained unit. It is very sturdy and is working very well for us. One comment: my four-year-old son figured out in no time how to open the gate. So it is not "preschooler proof." Not that it claims to be, but it is something to be aware of if you have older children.
item helps with standing and learning how to pull up to stand
