After reading so many reviews I was hesitant to buy but it has been excellent and did just what I wanted. I have a large cat who does not jump over things and I wanted to use the gate to keep her out of two rooms. She tried to jump it one time. Since I just had it against the door and not mounted , the gate fell over and kitty learned not to try to jump it. Fits really well when pressure mounted to a 42" door frame. Well worth the cost.. I am very pleased.

Got this for the top of my stairs, & it is excellent. Can be used with pressure or installed to swing open, which I did. Easy, simple installation & the blue matched the colors in our home perfectly.
bought for my neices autistic daughter to stay out of my room keep door open for cats to come and go as please... shes a climber.and it really helps to keep her safe..very sturdy
I really like this gate. I've purchased 2 so far for 2 separate locations and it's really easy to use and does the job!
The design is not the easiest to secure in place with the open and close latch. Once you get it in place it's fine even without the recommended hardware to keep it in place. I am not using it for I child so I won't be using the attachable cups and hardware. If I were using it for a baby I'd probably use the hardware.
Wished I bought the step on open gate this is a pain to open and close and 1 year old baby pushes his body weight and knocks it down
Bought two of these gates to block off stairs from 1 year old, very sturdy. Had a little problem wall mounting for swing open, due to odd size of stairwell, and could not lock in position with bar. Put a couple screws to hold at right size and works great. Would have been nice if there were more size allowance with locking bar, but can be worked around. Without mounting as swing open, bar would hold firmly in opening.
I got this to keep some kittens corralled,lol. I had a hard time getting it in the locked slot,and once I did I can't get it undone! But that's ok for now,we just step over.
I wish more gate products would say if it will work when there is a 2 to 3 inch high base board in the door frame. This one doesn't. So,I improvised and put 1 1/2 inch round furniture leg pads stuck on to each round rubber piece like 3 on each for the left and right top ones. It sort of works. FYI the pink one was cheaper than the blue one.
