I like it, the taste is similar to fried ham, at least how I remember it from childhood. I use it on 'ham and pineapple pizza, it's yumm!
It's been great seeing Walmart expand its vegetarian and vegan options - even greater to see better assortments taking shape. This Tofurkey version (ham) is by far the best that the brand offers and I'm thrilled to see it at Walmart - it's very difficult to find. Now, if we could please see Beyond Meat (not just the burgers), Beyond Sausage, the new Good Planet cheese wedges, Violife cheeses, Tofutti sour cream...there would be no excuse to head to Whole Foods. A girl can dream!
I first had these years ago and loved them because I thought they tasted like bologna. I started buying them again recently, and they taste like ham steaks to me (in deli slice form). I loved ham steak when I was a kid. It's a little weird for me now since I associate that taste with murdered pigs. However, having this to give me lots of high-quality protein per calorie WITHOUT any dead animals involved is awesome. I'm so grateful that the Walmart here has this!! Side note: Of the 2 varieties in my store, I stick with this. The other tastes like cat food.
My kids love it. I was very pleasantly surprised. I never thought I would find a vegan deli meat substitute, that tasted good. This one almost tastes like real Ham.
Husbands a Veg guy. So he loves the wraps I make with this. I've eaten it too and for being meatless, it tastes pretty good. Products from this company have always proved pretty good.
I've eaten the smoked turkey slices for years, and the ham style is a pretty tasty new addition. Now I buy a pack of each. I'll try the chicken style when my store gets it.
texture wasnt quite right but the flavor was alright, certainly the best lunch meat substitute ive had
I like the smoked turkey flavored Tofurky slices but this stuff tastes waaay too much like real meat for me. I can't give it a low rating because I guess that's what they were going for, I just wish they'd make some protein slices for people who don't like meat instead of trying to mimic it. Definitely worth a try if you like the taste of carcass tho.
didnt really like the taste much, i will just stick with buying the oven roast turkey option of tofurky
