This product is the greatest. It's very easy to operate. The maps are easy to follow. If you somehow miss a turn, it automatically recalculates a new route for you. I would highly recommend it to anyone...whether you are easily lost or not! One of my best investments ever!
We lover our TomTom One 3rd Edition. Only problem we have with it and it's our own fault is that it doesn't tell you the street names. Other than that it has save us a lot of time, headaches and arguements...in fact TomTom is always right like me! If only my husband would figure that one out! (he he) I recommand this product a lot.
First off I finally gave in and bought a GPS after previewing them from my friends vehicles. The Tomtom works flawlessly to direct me whever I need to go. So far I have only used it a couple of days and I have yet to update the maps. Trust me If you are considering a GPS it is well worth the money for the tomtom unit.. no more searching the internet for maps that may be obsolete, no more reading maps in the dark.. and heck the best thing about it is that its really cool it even calculates your speed as your driving. your destination time is calculated for you and updates in real time as you stop or move faster. Features - The unit is not as fancy as some of the other gps units out there but who cares, bluetooth on a gps unit is almost redundant as internet on a cell phone. The POI's are great and probably much better when you update the maps. The unit works right out of the box and wont let you down. You can choose which voices male or female to use when driving. a great buy, and a lot less expensive than most of the other units out there.
I LOVE my Tomtom. I recommend it to everyone. You might think, that since this is the cheapest TomTom available, its the cheapest made, less user friendly, etc. WRONG! This is so easy to use. I set mine up in the Walmart parking lot, in maybe 2 minutes. It was quick, easy, and I was off! Everytime I hit a Point of interest, it has exactly where I want to go. I've never tried to find something, and couldnt find it. I have no complaints at all. Worth every singly penny. Cant wait to use it this summer on our trip to TN to TX! Its very easy to read, the speech is loud and easy to understand, and if you go too far it tells you where to turn around, or how to get to an alternate route. I love it, go buy one, you wont be sorry!!
We got the Tom Tom one for a recient road trip and loved it! It was used to find bathrooms in the middle of the night, phone numbers for places we were wanting to go to, interesting places to go explore and for the maps to get to all theese places. I loved our Tom Tom and don't want to go on another trip with out it.
I'm not real good with direction's. So I normally stayed close to home. With my tom tom I can go anywhere. It's easy to navigate all the screens, The voice commands make it easier to follow directions without having to look at the screen. Which is a big plus because I can concentrate on whats going on, on the road,It's a great not to have to look at an atlas or printed directions, so it's safer for everyone on the road.
I bought this Tom Tom to take with us on our vacation this summer and it is really a great value for the money. It took no time to set up and download the free voices from the internet site. They had some you could buy but i will stick to the free ones. I first used it to navigate through New York City and it did a great job!! The only drawback was I had to get used to the distances of the turns so I took the right street. If you went under a bridge or into a tunnel you would lose the satellite's signal. As long as you weren't turning it was fine and took you right on through, but this would happen to any GPS. ALL in All I would recommend this product to any one that is going to buy a GPS system.
I was on a family trip to Montgomery, Alabama for a funeral. I didn't know my way around so I stopped in at one of the local Wal~Marts there and bought the TomTom. I don't know why I didn't buy one sooner, it's a true godsend to have in areas you're not familiar with. The county I live in consists of over 500 square miles and I don't know it all, even after living here for 33 years. The TomTom goes everywhere with me because there are businesses that are hidden and the TomTom finds them, just by entering their address. In my book, Rand-McNally road atlases are now obsolete and I'll never buy another map.
I own a Garmin and a Tom Tom. They both have neat features, the Garmin has better security and a better shape. The Tom Tom has the wonderful Tom Tom Home software so you can backup your device to your computer and also plan routes ahead of time. Tom Tom has a lot more free voices than Garmin. Garmin is more accurate in predicting time of arrival but Tom Tom eventually catches up. I have made long trips with both of them running side by side to compare them. In the end the ability to plan your trips ahead of time in your computer or on the GPS and the, lots of, free stuff you can get for the Tom Tom have won me over. If in doubt buy a Tom Tom, even the user interface is more intuitive.
I suppose I got what I paid for. It took HOURS to get its first connection with a satellite. In fact I had resigned myself to returning it as defective when it suddenly came to life scaring the bejaysus out of me with with "turn right in 400 yards". Since then it has worked efficiently. You do need to have an address or at least an intersections to seek. It can give directions to points of interest but that database is VERY limited. Also, I found out the hard way that when you ask for directions to a city center you get directions to the physical center of the city, not downtown. I faithfully followed directions and was told I had arrived at my destination in a cul de sac miles from downtown. Naturally this happened the first time I used it to actually guide me someplace as opposed to just checking it out when I knew where I was going. I was able to find a point of interest that looked as though it might be downtown and get where I was going.
