This is the most useful travel assistant except for having a bellhop at your side to lift your luggage. The unit is easy to read even with bi focal glasses. I have used it several times on trips I drove in other states and it was also so up to date with detours etc;
Ive had my TomTom 510 for a few months now and hadnt really used it much until 3 weeks ago when I went to Illinois to visit my girlfriend. Let me tell you..it was a life saver. I couldnt imagine having to flip through papers trying to find directions while driving down the interstate. All you have to do is plug it in and let this handy little device tell you where to turn. The only thing I would recommend is buying an external antenna which cost around 20-30 bucks. If you dont have one its really easy for them to lose signal. btw..I love you baby!
I have enjoyed the product very much. Easy to set up and use
The voice commands are accurate and keep your eyes on the road. No more fumbling with map print-outs. Makes travels to unfamiliar areas a piece of cake. Absolutely love the hands free feature for cell calls! Was able to program my itineraries for a trip in one day. Simple to use.
The performance is sometimes erratic, for example the change from day to night colors is unpredictable. The connection to PC using TOMTOM Home is extremely fragile, and easily results in lock up of the unit requiring reset. Cell phone connection is good and consistent, an unexpectedly useful feature.
Great value for the price. Gets you where you want to go. When you make the wrong turn or go past your turn, it gives you the alternative route automatically. There was one place we had gone several times before and using the Tomtom, we found a quicker way to get there.
This was my first time using a GPS unit. Just by observing the performance of units used by family and friends, I know I am getting a good product for my money. The GO 510 was easy to set up and begin using. After a few test runs to places I knew the route, my confidence is high that I can't go wrong letting the GO 510 handle the directions!
The GPS 510 is very good but wish i had got the TOM TOM GO same price i am old it is kinda hard for me to program this one and the tom tom go has less but would have just right for me, but will say the 510 is very good thanks wal-mart
The first trip I used this on, it completely shut down, never to start again. It worked fine for a day, but day two was a bust.
Worked great on the road, but could not login to Tomtom's down load site, so I could use with my computer. In my work I like to input addresses from my computer to the GPS, its easier. Tech Support has the impression that they know what they are doing, but they don't. First purchase was returned because it was thought defective. Second had same problem. Two computers, one XP other Win2k OS's. Tech support said problem was in my computers. Tried friends Garmin GPS and it installed real easy. Main reason I purchased a TomTom was it was rated a best buy with CR, and Walmart price was below other merchants. I did not have any problem returning GPS to Walmart. They were very nice. Tech Support at TomTom was nice, but not computer knowledgeable.
