Wanted to get the original metal tonka for my nephew and this was it!
I bought Tonka toys when my children were little and they couild not destroy them. I am so pleased to find out Tonka still makes strong, made to last, toys. I am now nuying them for my grandsons.
You remember back in the day when toys were built to last? They did not have flimsy joints, plastic coverings, or rustable metal peices. This Tonka truck is constructed old school. it is almost all metal, it is heavy, sturdy and nearly unbreakable. My 6 year old commonly sits in his and rides down the hill in our back yard. For fun I sat on it once and I weigh 220lbs. It held me!! This toy will last beyond your child's interest in it and you can give it to another child or donate it. Great product Tonka!!!
The Tonka TS4000 steel dump truck is everything I expected it to be. Tough, durable and able to take a lot of punishment. I bought this one as a gift for my grand nephew. My nephew had one back in the 80's and it was virtually indestructible. If this one lasts as long as that one did I'll be very impressed with it.
I bought 2 of them for my grandsons - they are great value.
It says it's metal but the cab is plastic. I wish it was all metal. But it's cool that the bucket is metal cause that lasts longer.
Wonderful toy! My 15 month old grandson Loves this big truck and his 30 month old sister puts her "babies" in this truck. Mom says it's very sturdy - however, other than the metal dump box, the entire truck is plastic. The truck is BIG, which the kids love for "hauling" stuff around in. Great VALUE at $20! Wish Tonka would bring back their old metal toys! I ordered this online to ship to the children and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived just 4 days later!
I bought this truck for my grandson's 3rd birthday and not only does he love it, his little brother does too!! Great purchase! I bought it online because I couldn't find it in my local store to send in the mail and my daughter told me both boys love it..
I bought this for my two boys (one for each of them) several years ago. They STILL play with it! The truck bed is bent a little but that is the only thing wrong with them. They have NOT been at ALL gentle with them either. They have been thrown off the deck millions of times...well if you have boys you know how they are with toys. This is the ONLY toy we have bought that has lasted. I would recommend this to all kids...WELL worth the money!
The Tonka trucks of old were heavy and durable. The description says "Steel" Dump Truck. This one is mostly plastic. I was expecting a little more for the cost. I don't expect this one to last my grandson very long - he is all boy!
