Performs exactly as promised and the software set up process is EXTREMELY well done, completed flawlessly and so thoughtfully developed that it was fun and easy. Most importantly, the high performance coverage we needed across the house is as advertised.
A truly easy-peasy set up and installation, that resulted in a very noticeable boost in signal strength and connection speed between our 2 floors, even installed inside a closet out of sight (see picture). Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Technology at its best! Very happy indeed.
Setup with the TP Link app was a breeze - less than 20 minutes for two units. In service for only a month, the Deco M9 has proven very stable. Speed (via Spectrum) relatively close to hub is a well over 200Mbps and the remote, which has to go through major wall obstacles consistently averages downloads approaching 200Mbps. Those are some serious streaming benchmarks and, needless to say, everyone in the household is extremely pleased.
This system works very well. I love the mesh technology. No need to change access points based on where you are, it just automatically switches. Setup was simple. You download the app and it walks you through the process. You do need to have an additional Ethernet access point in you modem/router to connect the primary Deco. Once the primary is setup, the additional Deco devices connect quickly and easily. I put in 4 units total (The primary + 3 more) and have access throughout the entire house (about 3300 sq ft) and about 125 feet into the backyard. Connecting the home smart devices to the system is the same as connecting to any other internet access point.
Bought the M9 duo mesh on the recommendation of the internet. I am happy with the product and the app walked through the installation of the product. It does only have two Ethernet inputs, but it can connect to a local switch or gateway easily. Overall, very happy with the product. Ive owned it for 3 days.
This router mesh system is amazing. This product was highly rated from PC magazine and so many reviews. It far exceeds any competitor I previously tried. I recommend this product if you need fast WiFi internet speeds and have a home with cement walls or multi levels (2-3 story homes). I cannot believe how incredible it works. Walmart has the best price and it was so easy to install. I spent hours with other products that were complicated and time consuming and this product was super easy
I am NOT a tech expert. I normally need help with any new device of software associated with my computers. Hence, my hesitancy to attempt to install, let alone purchase a mesh system. If you can identify with me, then let me assure you, this was amazingly simple to set up. I actually, set this system up within 20 minutes. My internet connection is so weak, that the service provider said that according to their monitors, we do not have internet service when we actually do.(The internet light on our modem is constantly blinking like an old neon light sign), I did a tremendous amount of research on mesh systems and this one fits our needs. We have a two story 4,400 sq. ft. house and with the two devices that come in the box, we now have internet throughout the house.
No more dead spots! My house is two story and upstairs was always spotty with my old router. Now we are getting full speed everywhere. Tri band really makes a difference and the two nodes. Super easy to set up. Totally worth it.
Easy setup, provides reliable WiFi service for the entire house, good security features. They do run hot though. The bottom of each unit is very warm at all times.
This is a thoughtfully designed router, but there are two problems with it. Setting up the TP-Link devices is as simple as possible, but configuring your existing modem or router to allow/support the new router is very problematic. Once you have solved problem 1, I found the Decos to be unstable.
