Simple device, easy to setup and operate. It is not clear if the "away mode" is a randomized scheduler on the app. Do make sure your IoT devices are firewalled and separated at home.
I have purchased 3 of these so far and they work flawlessly! I have them hooked to the living room light, some under cabinet lights and the coffee pot. These plugs work great! The app is very user friendly and simple to set up/use. The timer functions are a dream. I would recommend to everyone!
Reliable, dependable operation. Software cooperates easily with Google Home. The app is easy to use. I recommend these. I have 15 various Kasa models in use right now. They are worth the money. I have a few really cheap smartplugs and they are a pain in the neck to use and maintain - connections drop frequently - major bother to reconnect = software and app are difficult to use.
This was super easy to install/set-up and works flawlessly w/ Alexa via my Amazon Tap. Only things I can think to improve on would be 1) add a dimming feature 2) Support for Scenes from TP-Link's Kasa app within Alexa. (Currently, Alexa only sees devices, and you can make Groups but not Scenes) 3) Support for IFTTT (but I believe that is up to IFTTT, not TP-Link) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I purchased this from a 3rd party seller on Walmart.com. Seller was Nutrend Automotive Inc. Item arrived but had been open and used previously. When I attempted to program the plugs they notified me that I needed to reset them because they were link to another persons account in the Kasa app. Item was not labeled as preowned.
One of the 3 I bought already stopped working. The Dell website only allows you to return all 3 or none which is really frustrating.
Not happy, to date,, not able to connect with my router wirelessly. So until I can, I was a waste of my money and time.
