The reason for this purchase, is the size of the phone. It is rather difficult to slip an android phone, the size of a tablet, in your purse or jacket pocket. I was with Tracfone for years, then switched to another company. I am very happy to be back with Tracfone!
This seems to be a easy to use, simple cell phone. The only reason I went with these is because of the ease of texting. A buyer has to do their own research on the internet and decide which direction to take. The days of walking into Walmart and many other stores and expecting to find an employee who can answer questions, are long gone. This is why I have gone to the internet for research and purchases. And I'm and older person at 71 years of age.
Bought to play Pokemon Go and Pokemon Sleep on, it works, but Pokemon Sleep starts being slow and sometimes crashes, when it does, then restarting the phone fixes it.
I'm a low-usage kind of phone person. I just needed a phone for getting texts or making an emergency call, maybe a picture now and then. I don't need some really expensive phone when I only turn it on a couple of times a month. This was a good choice for me. Relatively easy to get it activated, picked a very low-cost prepaid plan to go with it. The size fits my hand nicely, and found an attractive cover that fits. Can't complain, it's basic but does everything I need.
So far, I like this phone. It does what I need without a lot of extra fuss. Facebook can be disabled - I was unable to do this on the Motorola (Android 10) that I purchased and quickly returned. I do not use the phone a lot, mostly some health/fitness apps, food journal and Strava. I also send and receive text messages without trouble. I'm glad I made this purchase.
We got this for my 6yr old grandson to play with on wifi witbout cutting the service on. He loves it. He had a nice little Moto G Play, but the screen cracked, so we bought this cheaper one, and this phone is, honestly, better for our purposes. The screen is plastic or something, so it hasn't cracked at all, and he's had it for a couple months, using it nearly every day. I wanted to buy two more for my other grandsons, ages 3
Ive had the TCL A3 for about 2 weeks now and it works fine but the only issue is that you can't use the DSU installer for android 13/14 because of the secure boot failure and will restart back into stock android. I bought this phone to use as a developer device for a back up device. besides the secure boot failure it works fine.
I had this phone before, so when it broke, I got another one. This new one only sets the time in China. When you look at time stamps something arrived, it will say "tomorrow at Whatever time". Some apps that I had on old phone will not load on new one. Also lost several pictures when transferred.
I bought this phone to upgrade my phone and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a piece of crap! The phone gets really hot after normal use, the phone dials by itself in a phone call with an automated system. I could go on and on about the problems I'm having with this phone but you get the point. I had to switch back to my previous phone because I bought this phone and it came broken. Now I'm out the money I spent on it which upsets me. You don't have to take my word for it but you will be wasting money if you buy this phone.
I simply tried to replace my TracFone after the phone would no longer charge. You evidently no longer offer that particular brand so when agent said "Verizon" I thought, OK, fine. Agent said replacement phone would be identical as to features. My old phone showed email, showed all the contacts in my Outlook account and what the charging level was at any time. This "replacement" shows no such thing...just a child's APP assortment. Kept the same number and was told all the Minutes would be transfered but I can't be sure that happened. So disappointing, especially since I had talked to a live person, polite and encouraging, and he gave me the reassurance that I was being understood -- now I'm stuck with a useless replacement. .
