this phone was a gift to my husband for Father's Day. I brought myself a different phone earlier in the year. My more expensive phone in NO WAY compares to the quality of this phone. It holds a charge better, the graphics are better, the sound quality is better, etc..etc.. I WISH I had waited and got this phone for myself as well. My phone is a piece of junk compared to this one.
I have trouble finding phones that I can use in my area. I am in one of those dead zones, my old phone was way outdated & all I could do was text on it. Could not get enough reception to answer it. I can do it all on this phone. I had no trouble getting it set up & activated. I tried 3 phones before tracfone recommended this phone. And it works, i was without a phone for 2 weeks during this process of finding a phone that would work here. My daughters both have att & verizon smart phones & they cannot answer them here. And since having this phone I can answer, talk, text, & do data with one bar I am thrilled. This is the first time in 7 years of living here that I can answer my cell without going outside & running around the yard looking for a place to get reception.
This is a great phone for a first time smart phone user. I recommend reviewing the tracfone tutorial before beginning any set up. Additionally, if you don't have wifi, to avoid data charges, use your computer to set up your google play account. Once that is set up, this phone just cruises along and will be more user friendly. Also, purchase the 32 gig SD card. Keep the battery charged (it seems to go fast when watching movies and playing games). I may be biased because I've never owned an iPhone or any other android device, but I honestly see no reason to pay so much money for a fancy phone. This phone does everything I need it to and more. The screen is crisp and clear, the sound is wonderful and did I mention the price? Excellent deal all around.
I purchased two moto e 3G first generation cell phones One of the units audio does not work unless put into speaker external mode. Which is an inconviencce and allows other people to hear your conversation. After researching the problem, seems that a factory reset solves the problem. In this case not. Soon will be receiving a new replacement. Other than that I am very satisfied. Great phone over all.
It's a great smartphone for people who don't need the fancier features available in expensive phones or a high-quality camera. My biggest disappointment with this phone is that the camera does not have autofocus or automatic adjustment for low lighting, which means some of the coupon apps I wanted to install (ibotta and Savingstar) are not compatible because those apps require a camera with autofocus. Otherwise, I am very happy with this phone.
My first smartphone! Just received this phone and so far no problems. Texting screen is a little small but will be fine when I get used to texting on a smaller scale. Ordered this from on line from Wal Mart and received in 5 days. Wal Mart set my phone up and transferred my contacts and pictures. This is a service I greatly appreciated!
So far, this phone has worked pretty well for me. It's my first smart phone, so I didn't know what to expect. At first, I had a hard time figuring out how to tell if I got a text, then I noticed that they popped up in my alerts. I have to try and figure out how to change the alert sound for that as the default doesn't seem to do the trick (I'm sure it's pretty easy to do, just haven't taken the time to do it.) So far the alarm works well (VERY important to me!!) I would like to be able to customize each one so that some have a 5 min snooze, and some a 10 min. I could probably find an alarm app if it were that important, but it's no big deal. Otherwise, so far, a pretty good phone!
I was excited to get my first smartphone, but even though this phone was listed as working in my zip code it does not pick up in my rural area. I feel these cell phone towers need to be placed in these areas, too. Most of us would like to be up to date with the new technology regardless of where we live.
I got mine nearly 3 years ago, and it still works well... But it has hangups sometimes. There were only 2.16GB open from the start for my apps. Even with an SD I can only have 4 of my own without it rejecting text messages (because texts take up SoOoOo much memory). I had to delete and deactivate a few preloaded apps in order to sorta keep up :/ and it also has a really bad camera--grainy images, no front camera, and no flash. However, it has been through a lot. Almost 2 years ago, it was chewed up by the dog. The back cover was bent, battery taken out, case destroyed, and bite marks to the speaker and earphone jack (which didn't work afterwards). It has also been dropped innumerable times. I'm impressed it has lasted so long, and if you're looking for hardy first phone and aren't too particular about having more than one or two extra [data and space-eating] apps, this is the phone for you. ATTACHED PICTURE: after being chewed up by dog... taken on the phone, you'll be able to see quality for yourself.
I was unable to program after activating because there were no icons at the bottom of the screen. I called Tracfone for help and was told there are ALWAYS five icons at the bottom as well as an * on the keypad. Not on this phone ! Rep told me to call back when there is someone with me ; maybe she thought I was unable to see the screen. I hope Walmart will take the phone back. Only reason I bought it was for the qwerty keyboard.
