We have two of these. Great device for the price. Works well on wireless, bought cases as well online and they have physically held up well. Positive: phone battery is great! Standard Android makes it simple. Goes for days. Negatives: Wish it had more internal storage space for apps and pictures, also could be a little faster. Overall, great phone for the price, would recommend.
Key features of this phone are: Android 6.0, 1.4GHz Quadcore, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD slot upgradeable to 32GB external storage and a surprisingly nice 5.0 inch 720 x 1280 IPS display. I'm not a big phone user and only need a few apps, so this phone does what I need it to and not much more. My biggest gripe is that there is very little free internal storage. Another drawback is the 1GB RAM, which slows down web browsing and multitasking. This phone is made of plastic and is not as thin or sleek as expensive phones. Out of the box, there is about 1GB of free internal storage available for you to install additional apps. The operating system alone uses 4.8GB, and the factory-installed apps use another 2GB roughly. This phone does not support adaptable storage, so all apps must be installed on the remaining 1GB of internal storage. To make matters worse, all of the factory-installed apps are uninstallable. Luckily, you can free up about 1GB of internal storage by disabling some apps (not all apps can be disabled) and then clearing the data they used. Using apps and browsing the web was fast enough to not be annoying, but would probably not be snappy enough for someone who uses their phone a lot. A phone with more RAM would probably be noticeably faster. The microSD slot comes in handy for music, photos and Netflix downloads. This phone is a great value for what you get, but it is probably not enough phone for some people.
Tracfone claims the phone has 8GB memory, but it only has 4 ... and it's filled with bloatware. Additionally, the ability in Android Marshmallow to extend memory to SD card is defeated in the Tracfone version of Android 6.0.1. You cannot root it to get rid of bloatware, either.
I really didn't expect too much for what I spent on this phone but I was still highly disappointed. Some of this was mentioned in a previous review but I have to agree. This phone is more often than not EXTREMELY slow no matter what it is trying to do. Often times if you have an app open and the screen locks, the app ends up closing on you. Most of the built in storage is full from the factory. I installed two apps that take up roughly 250 MB and the internal storage is almost full. If you need a basic phone and you are on a budget, this phone should suffice, but if you have more than a couple apps you want to install and/or expect reasonable performance, this is NOT the phone for you. I plan on replacing this phone ASAP.
First attempt at buying a smartphone. It came loaded with a lot of apps that I can't uninstall and there is no space to add apps that I want. I very much dislike the appfinder since I am not able to add any apps they offer. Will make do for now but will pay more attention next time I look for a phone.
It is starved on memory. Apps can not be put on the SD card. Built in apps can not be stopped from uipdating, so the updates fill memory and cause resets. Many of the built in apps can not be disabled at all. The ZTE Citrine and other less expensive phones allow using the SD card for apps and work better. More expensive phones allow SD card for apps or are born with more memory. Cheaper or more expensive, but this phone is being replaced after only a few months and is wasted money.
I bought this phone a year ago and it has been nothing but slow and the memory is slow I cannot put anything on the SD Card to give it more memory. You cannot even download the updates. The phone does what ever it wants calls people and I do not even have the phone near me while I drive. If I want to go to face book it goes somewhere else. It is hard to even read face book as it keeps shutting down. I am thinking of trying another phone and if I have the same trouble with that phone I will go to just a cell phone and not the Smart phone. I like the plan that tracfone has to offer and have been a member for a long time.
The only thing good that I can say about this phone is that it holds a battery charge for a long time because I leave it turned off. A waste of money at any price. Not enough memory to load apps. Poor audio quality on phone calls. A huge disappointment.
I have NEVER been so DIS-APPOINTED in any other phone I've ever had. When I had to delete the first app to make room for the second app is when I should have threw it under a train. No memory card will work with it , not the "HC" or the "XC" or any size of card .... That little 8GB is all there is and all there ever can be with these little pieces of TRASH. I'm going back to the LG brand.
I gave it a 1 because I couldn't go any lower!!!! Purchased phone on 8/9 and I took it back today 8/23 .... Just couldn't deal with it anymore!!! SOOOO MANY ISSUES, I honestly don't know where to begin!! At the end of 1st day, memory was full and I only downloaded 2 apps. Come to find out that most of the phones memory was already used up, due to apps pre-installed in the phone. Internet.... A joke!!! My 99 yr old Grama moves faster!! You name it, there's an issue!! Picture quality.... The worst ever. I wouldn't recommend that phone to ANYONE. To top it off, the minute's, and data I purchased waisted due to the fact that I couldn't find another phone through that carrier that was any better!!
