My 8 year old son loves transformers. He has 3 different cyber slammers, and he plays with every day! I would really recommend this product for all little boys that like cars as well because you can set the vehicle to stay in "car mode" with a little button on the bottom. I bought one for my nephew who is 4, and he loves it, too.
My son got this a couple of weeks ago and loves them. Overall a good choice if your little boy likes smashing toys. I recommend buying more then one.
I purchased this for my four year old son. He has other transformers and I am the one who transforms most of them. I liked this toy because it is the character but easy enough for him to do. Also it is small and he can carry it with him. It pops up and travels like a car or you can lock it on the underside and it will stay like a car. The preschool teacher who reviewed it previously must not have noticed that feature.
I would say this toy would be difficult for a 3 or 4 year old to play with, have to push hard to keep the robot down and then it pops up really fast as soon as it starts to roll, not really very fun. I bought it for my preschool class but doubt I will use it there.
