This year the toy to get was anything Transformers. Walmart.com made it very easy to order and have shipped. I did not have to wait in a crowded store with rushed people all trying to get the same thing. I am very pleased with that part of it. My son had no problems putting it together and transforming this toy. He thinks it is great!
My 4 yo. son LOVES this toy. We bought it at the same time as Bumblebee. He carries his Transformers around the house all the time. At first my husband or I would have to transform it, but after a few showings my son figured it out for himself. We plan on giving him the large Megatron and Optimus Prime for Christmas, so I can only imagine what kind of fun he will have with all of them together!
My grandson just loved this and played with it all day. It seems to be holding up good and that's saying something because he usually breaks everything he gets by Christmas day! LOL
Bought it for our 4 year olds birthday. It took a couple of demonstrations at some steps before he could transform it himself. Now he can manipulate it in both directions easily.
I purchased Barricade for my 4 yr old and he just loves it even though I have to do the transforming at this point. It is fairly easy to transform after a few successful tries. It is awesomely engineered the way it transforms into the police car and is held together very solid, but in robot mode I find it somewhat cumbersome not only during transformation but during play as its one arm with the spinning blade shield is kinda flimsy and awkward to navigate. Overall its a very nice toy built really well for a very good price.
FAB Barricade is a great figure. I bought it at Herrin Walmart. I like this figure . Me and my brother have a lot of transformers from the new movie.
The Barricade transformer is a fairly difficult one to find, but the level of detail, including "to punish and enslave" decals, make it well worth the trouble to find. Barricade has decent articulation but the head does not pivot and the left arm's "action attack" tends to activate during transformation. Overall, he's great for both collectors and kids. He also comes with a mini-Frenzy hidden in the grill.
Bought this toy for my girlfriend's 4 year old for Christmas. The toy continually breaks when trying to transform it. Took about 30 minutes to figure out the directions. I would not recommend this toy.
My son says: The fast action blade sheild barricade isn't that good, because one of the blades is stuck and another one pops off. The deluxe is better! He thinks the deluxe barricade can beat the fast action barricade.
I was very unhappy with this product. The only reason I bought it was because the description reads 3.0 x 3.0 x 12.0 (L x W x H). Maybe the packaging is this measurement but the toy itself is only about 6 inches in height... description is very misguided. After only a day of playing, the toy also broke... it is not intended for four year olds like it says on the package, so i guess it would be nice for older kids who will place it on their shelf.
