It is the best toy I have ever recieved. It is a little hard to transform at fisrt. But once you transform it a few times it is much easier. The weapons are awesome. These are hard to find and are getting rare, so if you can find one you better grab it. When it lights up it is vary cool and the wings are sweat. He is the coolest Transformer, and looks even cooler in person.

The Megatron Leader Series Transformer will be a hit for my son when he opens it on Christmas morning. The only problem with the one purchased was that although his eyes are supposed to light up - they don't. It's not such an issue that I want to deal with returning it - and it wasn't WalMart's fault - but it will be enjoyed none the less.

A little hard to transform, but still fun

I ordered Megatron for my 5 year old nephew for Christmas. The excitement in his eyes when he opened it was worth it. I didn't realize that Megatron was the bad guy when I purchased it. Nevertheless, Dominic still enjoyed playing with him. The toy is durable. I was worried it might break while he tried to transform. It took him a few tries to figure out how to transform him. It is a little tricky. Everyone whose seen it comments on the great detail. He's had hours of fun playing with it. I wouldn't recommend it for children younger than 5, they may get frustrated trying to transform it. But older than 5 should enjoy.

Great Transformer Action toy for the money. My only complaint is the instructions for transfoming megatron into a jet fighter. After 1 hour, I finally went online for some help and could see the details a little bit better. Great Toy for a future Engineer!

My son turned 5 in December & had been "dying" for transformers. Lucky for him he got tons of them for his birthday & Christmas. If you do not currently own a transformer, you need to understand one thing before you buy: YOU will be converting it back & forth about 500 times a day untill (assuming it is possible) your child can do it his/herself. LOOK at the CONVERSION DIFFICULTY LEVEL of each transformer you buy and equate that with how many hundreds of times you are willing to convert it for them. This particular transformer is a level 4 or 5 (sorry, don't remember the scale). I am mechanically inclined. My husband is as well. Well, it took us each about 20 minutes to convert this guy the first time - with the instructions (don't dare throw them away). I think I did Optimus Prime and dad did Megatron. After the 3rd or 4th time, I could do it without the instructions but keep them handy. I am hoping that one day, if I say "watch what I am doing" a few more hundred times, then my son might be able to do it himself. So as for the toys themselves, I think they are very clever & my son loves them. He plays with them daily though he prefers the ones he can convert quickly himself (level 2/3, I think). Some of the pieces do come off but "clip" back on easily though I usually have to do it. He plays rough with them, as 5 yr old boys do, and none have broken yet. So, as long as you know what you are getting into, these are awesome toys. The only thing keeping me from a full 5 star rating is that some of the pieces could "click" in place better. Also, I think 5 is a bit young for the highest conversion levels but am realizing as I read other reviews that 5 is definately the lowest of a very wide age span! I must admit, I get a tingle of joy when my son asks me to convert one.

Not Great/Not Horrible

Purchased for our son for christmas, the lights on it died within 30 mins, the button got stuck on it, too much of a hassle to return it so it just remains stuck, for $40 you would think it would have been a little more user friendly. Overall its sturdy as my son is hard on toys, and it hasn't lost any parts yet. Very hard to transform, neither my husband or myself can figure out how to transform this thing into the jet it should be, so we told our son it was like the cyber stomper and didn't transform so he wouldn't get so frusterated at himself for not being able to transform it.

Ever since I've watched bad reviews of the Leader Class Megatron toy on You Tube,I didn't think that this particular item was going to cause problums for me. Dispite the limited articulation, lazy paint job,the immovable head that can't be hidden when turned into vehicle mode, the lame weapon gimmicks and crazy lights and sound, this thing is also known to have falty electronics that you never know how long their going to last especially when you transform the toy to vehicle mode and back to robot. Not only that but the feet and legs are extremely flimsy and unstable that it easily can cause the toy to tip over your shelf or desk or whatever! And if that isn't enough, the plastic's durability is lacking and sometimes the arm joints are incredibly tight that it's hard to rotate them when you transform him into his weak alt mode. I never had a Transformer toy that would be giving me such a pain! Even the Voyager Class Megatron is not like that! That's probably why so many people chose to purchase that toy over the Leader Class. This Megatron toy is very unpredictable most of the time and I obviously had to keep exchanging it over and over again which was totally rediculous! I'm sorry but $40.00 just isn't worth it for that figure. The Leader Class Prime figure is more worth buying for that price, believe me,you won't be disapointed. I've heard several complaints about MP-05 Megatron on You Tube and read reviews on Amazon about it's fragileness and rusting metal parts, but I haven't gotten him yet. But Leader Megatron can be one of the worst made Transformer toys that just looks thrown together. I have complained to hasbro concerning this toy's issues. I'm just amazed that I was able to find one at Wal*Mart that didn't give me such agony. If only the toy was made much better by Hasbro Inc,it would be okay so to speak. Though I am a completest when it comes to finding the Transformer toys that I want, It's only better that we have to be more selective sometimes. But if this Leader Megatron is the toy you disire, then go buy it. Just remember to hold on to your receipt if it gives you the same problums by any chance.

My son loves transformers, age 10, but this toy became more of a pain than something he could enjoy. It is a well built toy, but the instructions on how to transform were confusing. He became very frustrated when he couldn't get it to work properly. If they want kids to be able to play with this toy, then they need to improve the instructions so that children can understand them. Dad and mom have also become frustrated with the instructions. Hopefully we will have it transformed soon.

This product was labeled ages 5+ and my husband and myself could barely get it to convert. As far as we are concerned it is way to much trouble for the $39 price I paid for it. Directions are included, but even with them, it was extremely difficult. Not worth it!!!

This figure is extremely hard to transform from vehicle to robot and back. I bought it for my Grandson and his parents complain that it is even difficult for them to transform. It is exspensive and the difficultly for transforming makes it not worth the money. Unless you buy it for someone who likes to spend a lot of time bending and twisting to get the parts where they need to be, steer clear of this toy.
