Good if you had a adapter

This headset audio was very low even at its highest volume and the only time the sound was great is when I plug in an adapter that was from turtle beach and I wouldn't have written this review if the adapter I was using work with chat can't hear my friends and they can't hear me so that means I have to buy an adapter that would work for both audio and chat and I'm not spending 30 more bucks so it can work so I'm returning it to get another headset.

I liked the feel of these headphones, as they head firmly to the head, set well around my ears and helped isolate outside sound with the way they sit. They felt strong, well-constructed and the lighting looks cool. However, that is as much as I liked about these headphones. I was highly disappointed in these once I used them. These come with batteries for the lighting and active EQ filter. The lighting is truly just for flash and battery consumption if you have someone watching you. Battery life is listed in the visual manual as 8-10 hours with lights on and 24+ with them off. Other than that, no purpose. The active EQ is just trash. When it is on and there is pure silence, there is a constant static sound. The only “active” feature it provides is the volume control and EQ. The volume goes no higher in active mode than in passive and the EQ is just pure garbage. It does increase highs, lows, or mids, depending on the selection, but at high volumes it just adds distortion to each of those levels. In passive mode you do lose the static sound but you also can no longer control volume from the headphones, though you can mute the microphone. The microphone did pick up sound clearly, but for some reason, in every device I tried it in, in active or passive mode, the person on the other side could hear themselves echo back. To ensure it was the headphones, I tried a different branded pair during the same call/chat session and the echo went away. The volume of this “multi-speaker configuration” is disappointing as well. As the active setting does not help amplify the sound and it is left to the device to power the 60mm and 10mm driver. In comparison to a cheaper set of 50mm driver passive headphones, the volume is much lower. I was really hoping that with 60mm drivers the bass would “tickle my ears” per say, but I was left with the feeling that the 10mm driver might leave, nothing. In comparison to other similar style headphones of this size and price range I have cheaper ones that outperform these without the lights.

Bad idea

I expected a lot more from this high profile gaming headset, if you read the specs on the box it comes in, it states they are rated up to 104 decibels ( level of sound)...after using them at max volume they are clearly not. Let's compare, your average conversation between you and the other person is about 60 decibels, and a fire truck air horn is 160 decibels. This headset once turned up at its max, you can hear a hissing noise that overwhelms the sound, not to mention other parties couldn't hear me through the mic. So for the money, NOT worth it AT ALL, sorry but this headset is a NO go. Recommend turtle beach.

Poor audio quality

Very poorly simulated surround sound, it completely cuts off the noise to one speaker and with them being on the noise counseling side, it's easy to tell and it leaves more to be desired on the lower volume side. I bought these after my Astro A40's crapped out. Do yourself a favor, save some extra money and buy quality.
