This means that there is some aesthetic irregularity. The irregularities may include, blisters in the shellac finish, stains, scratches or dents, discoloration in the wood or finish, rust or pitting on metals, imperfect glazes, manufacturer's repairs, or some other mark on the surface. The irregularity does not affect the playability or sound quality of the instrument. As with any scratch & dent offer, these are a great value. Turkish oud with classic tear-drop shape and bowl bottom. The Turkish oud is played in traditional Turkish and Mediterranean music and is known for producing a powerful, resonating sound. This model features a sheesham wooden body and neck with a beautiful matt finish. Strings: There are 3 courses of 2 strings 2 nylon and 2 courses of 2 metal wound; 1 course of 1 metal wound, making a total of 11 strings. SPECIAL NOTE; No Warranty on Strings: Whether you purchase an instrument on-line or in a neighborhood store, manufacturers recommend that you change the strings on your instrument as soon as you receive it. Your instrument has completed a long journey to your home. During this time the strings WILL oxidize and this may shorten their life expectancy and may reduce their sound quality. On occasion instruments may arrive with a broken string, therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings as soon as it arrives.
