I've had these for a couple weeks now and love them. I have some Turtle Beach wired stereo headphones and was happy with them but wanted to upgrade. These are amazing. I almost exclusively play Call of Duty multiplayer and these have really helped my game. Instead of rushing out the door and getting shot by the enemy I now hear them, wait for them to come in the doorway, and shoot them. I really can hear sounds coming from all directions around me. Separate game and chat volume controls are really nice. And the battery hasn't worn down on me yet in my several hour gaming sessions. Some have said that they break but I've been fine so far ( I got the 2yr replacement policy just in case; it was only like 8 bucks). Completely comfortable as well. Bottom line: I highly recommend. No negatives yet.
Im not the type of gamer that plays online, and needs a pair of headsets to interact with people. More so i needed a pair of headsets to be quiet while my family sleeps. But the sound quality was so clear i actually was startled when i didnt notice someone walk into the room. Plus you can change the sound quality on the headset. It turns itself of when its not in use, and it was an easy set up once you find out where everything goes. So all in all i was pleased.
great headphones! Have to send in for repair but they have been awesome.
bought these for my husband and he loves it. he's tried out a few more since (including some pricey corsair ones) but returned to old faithful!
I love this headset, the sound quality is great, i can hear everything from game mode, footsteps and all. The charge lasts quite a long time which is extremely convenient and if I happen to need to charge it while still playing games I can hook up the cable and have it charge while in use which is awesome!! most headsets have to be turned off when charging. I'm hoping it lasts a long time because I don't plan on buying another headset anytime soon. :)
I am not a video gamer by any means, and this is the first set of headphones I've owned for a video game console. I used it on each PS3 (2007 model and a 2013 model) and it works fine. The instructions are easy to understand and gives setup information for both the PS3 and the PS4. Make sure the boom mic is plugged in all the way - requires a little force to secure attachment. The sound is excellent via Blutooth wireless technology. The volume doesn't get very loud, but it's definitely appropriate to prevent hearing damage. The feel of the headset suggests it is made to fit more comfortably on larger dome pieces, whereas mine is only a 7" circumference and I still wear youth caps comfortably. The on/off button is very convenient. There is a mute mic button that works well. I haven't been able to use the headset on a laptop yet, for example. I'm not sure that it must be equipped with a optical digital output for it to work, but perhaps the Blutooth should have been turned off from the USB transmitter prior to external devices. The headset is self powered by the internal rechargeable battery. The audio jack cable should be able to directly connect to the headphone output of a laptop or other device, so perhaps I needed to disconnect Blutooth first. I like this headset - but again I am comparing it to nothing so don't take my word. Try it for yourself.
My head size is large and the headphones are just a little snug, not enough to cause a headache, but noticeable after a few hours of wear. I like the way they cup my ears which prevent the common pinching of ears by some of the other headphones. The headphones were bought to use with my PS4 and I think the written instructions aren't worth the paper they're written on. There is no step 1, do this, step 2, do this, etc. The graphic part of the instructions is what I used and after I finally figured out there is a delay between pushing the on button and the headphones coming on, then no problem. The instructions are wrong for the setup part on the PS4 but easy to figure out. I don't use the mic, so can't say anything about it. They sound great and work flawlessly with the PS4. I would not advise someone who is hard on equipment using these headphones. I'm careful with removing/putting on the headphones, I've had this type of headphones in the past. If you tend to pull off the headphones with one hand, then they want last long. The battery charge last a very long time, longer than the PS4 controller battery.
Overall very happy with this headset. Great value for a mid-level wireless headset. In comparison to other reviews, particularly the negative ones, I feel like customer satisfaction is based on the expectation of the buyer. As such, I'd like to emphasize that these are great for a MID-LEVEL headset. If your are expecting the performance and sound range of AS50's at 1/3 of the price you will be disappointed. That being said, they are great for the range that they serve. I picked mine up for $82 and the features that you get for the price are by far the best value in the 75-$150 price bracket. The mic is clear. The range of sound is really respectable. Both are independently adjustable via the dials on your right earpiece. Also, the factory EQ presets give a nice range of options to fit your personal preference. On the downside, there are complaints that these are a small headset. For reference, my fitted hat size is 6&7/8's to 7 so I don't have a big dome. The ear cups fit snugly but not uncomfortably. If you have a noggin pushing 7&1/2 though I could see how these could hurt as the adjustable nature of the headset seems to be made to accommodate length extension rather that diameter over a longitudal axis. I wear glasses when I play and haven't had any discomfort, but that could have more to do with the low profile of my frames rather than the ear cups. One last thing is that the volume dials do feel a little lightweight and flimsy but I've not had a problem with them other than that tactile impression. Overall this headset is for those getting into multiplayer or for people looking for value. For those seeking top end performance, that comes at a price and is a big jump up to the $250-300 price range. This headset is a good compromise. If that's your expectation, I would definitely recommend.
Everything about this product is amazing. Except for one thing. If you plan on using it everyday, or almost everyday, GET THE WARRANTY. Two days after the last day I can return them they broke as I was putting them on. I just put them on normally and one of the extended sides busted off. I have exchanged them and the new pair lasted about 2 months before they broke in a similar way. This product is not durable enough for people who game often, so be prepared to exchange it WHEN necessary.
As others have said, with any long term use the ear pieces will snap off at the extending plastic part. I had mine for about 4 months before they snapped when I was was putting them on. Luckily, I had the warranty. I returned them immediately and the lady at the return desk told me this was common with this headset. I ended up trading them in for the Golds. I highly recommend buying the cheaper Sony Golds. You just can't trust Turtle Beach to make a product that can stand up to any long term use. DO NOT BUY!
