I bought this headset for my 14yr old son and he enjoys the clear sound and has said the chat mic works great. The cups sit ON the ear, but he's had no problem with discomfort. He previously had a more expensive headset with his Xbox 360 and was not happy with the sound or the chat mic. I wouldn't have purchased this wired set at regular price, but I did jump at it when I saw it for half the price. My son's happy with the purchase and so am I.
This headset has a great sound and bass level. I play fps, mmos, etc and can easily hear people talking and hear footsteps. I don't even have to turn it up all the way as it is to loud. It's also great to unplug from the remote and plug into a phone or tablet.
My son uses theseHe uses them regularly and without any discomfort. This was purchased for my son by his grandmother. He's just gotten a little use out of it, since he just got it for Christmas, but so far he loves it! I would recommend this item fully.
I bought them for my 13 year old son who is a video game nut and he loves them! Sturdy construction and great sound quality. I bought them on sale but would have paid regular price for them had I have known how good they were. Very satisfied with this purchase
I like the headset adapter that turtle beach made for this headset. Its really easy to adjust game & chat volume, plus a master volume control that adjusts both. You can have the bass boost off or adjust to low or high bass boost for BOOMING sounds. The one draw back would be if you have big ears. The ear cups aren't as big as the X12 headset i had for my xbox 360. Overall tho they feel very comfortable during long gaming sessions. Great new product for the xbox one.
The headset and controller adapter come with purchase. It has a removable microphone which I like because I rarely actually communicate so I like to remove the mic but its good to have the option to use it from time to time. The cons are: 1) Removal of the adapter from the controller is really hard. Like, I'm a 31 year old guy who frequents the gym so I like to think I have a strong grip but yeah its tough. 2) Using headphones seems to drain the batteries of the controller quickly. May help to own a rechargeable pack and plug the controller in when you're not using it. 3) Occasionally the headphones don't start working when you plug them in. Usually happens when the xbox & controller are already on and paired. You either need to unplug and replug in the headset (see #1 though) or restart the controller itself and it will then start emitting sound. I feel like #3 is a problem for a lot of headsets so this may be more a Xbox controller issue than it is a Turtle Beach headset issue. Either way, I'm happy with them, but if you are expecting a flawless plug and play experience you may be in for a bit of a letdown.
I didn't want to shell out too much money for a headset, Turtle Beach are reasonably priced and are always a solid buy. Wish is were a little bit louder. It's comfortable and doesn't get too hot during long use. Using mic with multiplayer games is nice too, great overall blend of sound.
The only thing I didn't like about this headset is the really short cord. It makes sense when using them for the Xbone only but they are pretty much no good for anything else. That being said the bass boost is amazing and it really makes the games more immersive.
This was a gift for my son. He is a gamer and spends a lot of time on-line and he loves the feel of the headset. The only thing that might be a drawback is the sensitivity of the microphone. His friends can hear me talking to him even when I'm not in the room :)
I've had four different sets of this headset and all of them have broke in the same spot, right where you plug your headset into the adapter. I'm fed up with the poor quality!
