I just purchased a 2010 Dodge Journey R/T. Unfortunately, the headlights were hazy and scratched. I thought I would try the Turtle Wax Headlight Lens Restorer system because I was afraid I would scratch my pain if I used a drill fir the sanding step. I used the compound on both headlights followed by all 4 sanding pads. I then polished again as directed and the results were pretty good. Due to the severity of the haze/discoloration, I decided to repeat the whole process. The second application did the trick. I the. Used the wipes to finish the job without any complications. I was a little worried that the wipes would not cover both headlights after reading reviews, Journey's have big headlights. I have to say, there was no issues at all, in fact, the wipes were still wet with the product after treating both lenses. If you like to work on cars like I do, I highly suggest this product!
I am not someone who writes reviews on products on the internet, but I had to go to the source and review this product. I was very skeptical to be honest, but the product works if you follow the directions. As you can see in the photos posted my passenger side lens was very cloudy and yellow. This product removed all the yellow and cloudiness in my headlights. There is a bit of condensation in the lens when I took the photo, so it might not appear to show the clarity, but my drivers side lens doesn't have any condensation, so you can witness the clarity in after photos. Anyway, just writing to say this product works, have patience and use the product as instructed. Keep up the good work turtlewax.
I bought your headlight restore kit at a local hardware store and i live near the ocean...lots of cloud area on my lights...this product took it completely away. I love it & it was easy. Great instructions and I shared it on my facebook with over 2,000 followers. I think Im boosting your sales. Great product.
first i'd like to say that before i used this i went to the car wash. i bought this over the $15 headlight cleaner, and i am so happy with my purchase! it absolutely made my headlights look SOOO much better! with a little elbow grease all the dirt and such comes right off. ;))) i am attaching photos of before and after , i hope you all can see them!
Used it on my 2004 Toyota. Thankfully I only needed to use the compound to clean my headlights; I didn't use any of the other liquids or things in the kit. I used up like 1/3 of the bottle. I wish this kit came with a cloth to clean- I had to use my own. After a lot of elbow grease (aka scrubbing back and forth), and doing this 3 times per headlight, I definitely saw a difference. I definitely recommend since it's cheap and gets the job done.
Liked the end results. It took about an hour and a quarter to do 1 car. But the lens is smooth and looks new.
The lenses improved dramatically and I was happy until I used the final sealing uv protective wipe. Nothing horrible, but it left streaks. Directions were not explicit on how to apply, other than saying to "immediately follow (the drying of the lens coat wipe) with the lens sealing wipe". 1) Is the consumer suppose to still have the glove on from the previous base coat wipe? 2) Are you supposed to make a single pass in a downward vertical stroke overlapping as needed. 3) As it is initially applied is it supposed to leave small bubbles that turn into a small ridge or streak? 4) What do you do if this happens? Wait 24 hours and re-apply the lens clarifying compound? Some final comments: Please provide a nitrile glove (plastic glove provided is slippery and makes it hard to use and handle the wipes). Please provide 2 wipes for the base coat and 2 wipes for the sealing coat (one set of wipes for each headlight).
This product is very time consuming. Didnt get the results i was looking for and it took me a few hours to get it a little bit clearer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I just opted for what I tought to be a great cost benefit product. Indeed I got suprised for what is could do to my headlights but the results last no more than 2 weeks. After that the headlights got even worst than inittialy, even following exactly the steps described on back and aplying the "LENS SEALING WIPE" containing in the box.
Typically highly satisfied with Turtle Wax products. However this headlight lens restore kit did not work for my 2009 GMC Sierra. Money back guarantee?
