I bought these pants first in size 4 and then in size 2, in Sand and Navy Blue, for the purpose of wearing for nonstrenuous outdoor activity in cold/rainy weather. -Size: The size chart says it all. Most reviewers that expressed unhappiness over the fact that their "normal" numerical size from other brands did not match the UA size probably didn't take vanity sizing into account. Ignore numerical sizes as they are meaningless; just know your measurements and check the size chart. I usually fluctuate between the lower limit of size 4 and the upper limit of size 2 (for reference, I am usually 105-115 lbs., waist ~25-26", hips ~35-36") and so was concerned I might not fit size 2 if I gained weight in the future. I ended up buying two size 4s, one in each of the two colors I listed above. Big mistake. I felt like I was drowning in fabric, the waist wouldn't stay up, and it looked like I stole the pants off someone's clothesline. After that, I bought the 2s. The 2 fits a hair tighter than I would've liked, but the stretch waistband makes it tolerable. The rise is at the perfect height for me; reviewers that had issues with that were probably something on the order of half a foot taller than me. The pant legs are slightly long; I have to roll them up once to prevent them from dragging on the ground. I think these issues could be improved by offering a variety of pant lengths, and problem areas such as the rise could be proportionally adjusted based on those pant lengths to accomodate a wider variety of customers. -Comfort: These pants are ridiculously comfortable, and have just enough fabric in the knee area for a wider range of motion (such as crouching). The material is not too heavy, but still durable. They feel better than most pants do when wet, as if they're kind of dry at the same time, and they didn't stick to my legs. -Performance: While I would have liked these pants to be waterproof, they're acceptable as water-resistant. Said water resistance lasted about one minute when I went outdoors during Typhoon Meranti, but that was to be expected. The pockets at least stayed dry. These pants completely dried in an hour while I was indoors in a seated position, which was quite impressive. All in all, I would say these pants are totally worth it. I would consider getting the other colors when I can spare cash to do so.
I really love these tactical pants for women. The waist length is just right, as most tactical pants tend to have a high waist. They are super comfortable as well. I bought 2 sizes larger than my normal dress size and they work great, so bear in mind they run small. LOVE!!!!
I WORK IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND NEED DURABLE CARGO PANTS. THESE ARE THE BEST I'VE FOUND YET IN ALL MY YEARS! I'VE TRIED ALL THE DIFFERENT TACTICAL PANTS INCLUDING 5.11 AND TRU SPEC AND THEY JUST DIDN'T COMPARE TO THESE! I ORDERED ONE PAIR TO TRY THEM OUT AND ENDED UP ORDERING THREE MORE. I AM 5'5, 125LBS AND THE 6 FITS PERFECT. VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE AND WILL ORDER MORE (PLEASE DON'T EVER DISCONTINUE THESE UA!!) A SIDE NOTE - MY HUSBAND, ALSO IN LE, ORDERED THE MEN'S AND IS JUST AS HAPPY WITH THEM.
Great pants but WAY WAY too small. Normally float in 4 or 6. Got a size 6 and barely fitting in there (I'm average athletic. I squat, but I'm no Games athlete) across the hips and upper thighs. If you're looking include an IWB holster DEFINITELY go up in size. Zipper won't stay up. LOVE the soft waste band, overall construction. Fabric is spot on—just enough stretch, sturdy. Completely fine with the lower rise. Marine Green is beautiful OD green. Otherwise quality to instruct and train in. Best pants when working kneeling, moving. Just need to address the zipper and the sizing.
I have had these pants in both the black and light khaki color for over a year now and wear them for work which consists of lots of outdoor shenanigans in the woods, ponds, etc. PROS: very comfortable, non-constricting with movement and they hold up well, no holes or tears yet! Love all the pockets and the fit is very flattering. While I'm doing a lot of rugged work in these, I still feel like I look like a girl with the way they fit. Most pants in this style for women are very old school with high waists and a saggy butt fit. CONS: My khaki ones stained with soot marks the week I got them while working with fire & equipment (this could however just be due to my terrible laundry skills, I just recommend darker colors for messy jobs). My black ones are faded a bit, especially where buttons rub the pocket flaps but again, this could be partly due to my lack of laundry skills and the fact that I wear them multiple times a week. The only other con that doesn't relate to my laundry skills is that they don't breath very well. I wish they'd made the crotch region out of a slightly more breathable material. Side notes: I normally wear a size 0, I got both pants in a size 2 and the khaki ones are slightly tighter around the waist (it seems like khaki pants always are!). The size 2 is comfortably snug and fitted. I'm 5'6, 114lbs.
I originally ordered one pair of these in despite knowing they were going to arrive and be too short but I just had to try them because finding a well fitting women's tactical pant is near impossible. I got them and just as expected... too short! But everything else about the pant was amazing. Overall fit (aside from inseam length) was spot on! So, instead of sending them back I sent them to a tailor... I had to give them a field test. I had the hem lengthened as long as they could go and still they were too short but with my field boot I was able to make them work and I ended up ordering two more pair and sent those to the tailor as well. I put them to a grueling field test during a 3 day sniper rifle challenge in the heat, crawling through dirt, over rock and brush, they held up fabulously! Much better than my old standby of denim that I normally wear during these events. I am 5'8" - 125# - overly long legged but athletic built due to weight lifting and ordered these in a size 2 in the OD green, khaki, and coyote brown colors. I'll sacrifice a little length because otherwise the pant is amazing, but please, please start offering a longer inseam option! I have the same problem with the women's hunting pants from UA also.
It is so great to find tactical womens pants. I only wish Under Armour would fix two things... First, they are too short. If these were available in different lengths, i would be a happy girl! Next, what's with the white pockets? I am talking about the inside material that makes the hip pockets. I bought a pair of black pants and the white pockets constantly show. Please make the pocket material the same color as the pants. Other than that, these are great and fit women well!!! I hope these problems get fixed so that I can buy a few more pairs.
I bought one pair in a size 12 because I normally wear a 10. I'm 5'6" 145 lbs, with quite a bit of "junk in the trunk". The material felt great, it's light and airy. Which is perfect for out 100+ degree weather. When I put them I though, "ahh they feel like old worn out jeans, super comfortable." Because of my built, the waist was too low and definately too tight to wear to work, especially in law enforcement. I wanted to return the for a larger size, but 12 is the largest available. UA please make these in a larger size! I would definately continue to buy them if they fit me right. Had I been able to get a larger size, I'd be giving these atleast 4 stars.
I work in EMS and fell in love with the old style tactical pants a few years ago. What I loved most about them was the fact that the legs were not huge at the bottom! This new style has changed and I feel like I'm swimming in material on my legs while the hips and waist are tight. The material seems to be a little thicker as well and a bit harder to move in than before. Don't get me wrong - these pants blow other traditional tactical/EMS pants away in terms of fit and comfort. But the changes that were made from the old style have made them LESS comfortable and flattering than they were. I am 5'0", 110lbs, and I had to go up to a size 6 in these just to get a comfortable fit. I am normally a comfortable size 2 and that's the size I still wear in the old style of these pants. I only have two pair of the old style left and I'm hoarding them because we can't get them anymore. Please, UNDER ARMOUR, consider bringing back the old style! As much as everyone loves this new tactical pant, I think you would see sales soar even higher with the old fit!
I was very disappointed when I received these pants. First, I ordered my actual size and couldn't get them to button comfortably, so I returned them and ordered the next size up. The pants are still uncomfortable and it is due to how low rise they are. They're TOO low rise. These pants are not as practical for being in a squatting position or wearing a lot of gear around your waist (side arm, mag pouch, etc.) if you're in training or out on the range. I had really high hopes for these pants because it is hard to find "tactical" pants for women. Sadly, I've returned the pairs I purchased and will be looking elsewhere for women's tactical pants.
