It's a fabulous hydration product with a awesome flavor. Perfect container for your gym bag, with the best results ever. I never felt hydrated with all the water I drank until I started using Vega hydrator. It had changed my life and others as well that I share this information with. I'm a fitness Instructor and have made many of my clients happy with Vega products.
I recently started taking recovery after learning how much it helps with muscle recovery especially from heavy lifting. This stuff works!!! Tastes awesome both favours are good but I favour tropical. Not artificial taste and helps give me a boost of energy after my workout too. Highly recommend
I was a bit hesitant at buying this product at first, but I like most vega products, so I thought I'd give it a try. Wow, I definitely notice a difference when I use this product shortly after a workout! I recommend it for sure and will definitely stock up. I like the tropical taste.
Recently I bought this product because I read that our muscles actually need more Carbs than protein post workout. This has definitely been doing the trick! I used to chug a large protein shake post workout and it left me feeling over full and groggy. This is much easier, plus has electrolytes that I already used to drink post workout so its all in one for me.
the name says it all......recovery! Like the fact that it is putting back the nutrients that i lost when working out. I've been drinking the recovery for years. it is gritty to drink which is because of the weight of the nutrients. But this product earns its weight in gold.
I like recovery while I'm running and biking. I spend the winters in Baja so it's very easy to get dehydrated and weak while exercising as it can be hot. This recovery product helps keep my electrolytes in balance before, during and after exercising.
I use this product after my workouts. I have been noticeably way less sore the next day than I usually am. The taste is okay, I have the tropical one. Doesn't mix that great with water so keep shaking it up. I'm not vegan so I think even the carnivores would like this. I will be buying this again.
I noticed there hasn't been as much controversy with the recovery powder formula changes as with the pre-workout. However, there is a notable difference worth mentioning - the removal of Maca from the recovery powder. I've found Maca helps substantially with recovery, but now this recovery product no longer contains it. I wonder if this removal had something to do with the 'Informed choice' certification that Vega Recovery Powder has. A cursory Google search on maca shows that it can be pretty sketchy depending on the source. In fact, even in the 'Thrive' book itself Brendan Brazier referred to Maca as 'steroid-like.' Nonetheless, the recovery powder kept it's informed choice certification for many years while containing Maca. Vega still sells a separate Maca powder but that product does not have the 'Informed-Choice' certification. I'm a local competitive runner, and while I haven't been drug tested, the organization that runs many of the races in my area has a strict policy and will drug-test amateur athletes. Before this formula change, I had the confidence to use a product with Maca, but without Maca this product isn't as good, and the same as any other recovery powder out there. And for ethical reasons, I probably wouldn't add the Vega Maca while using this product, as that isn't 'Informed-choice' certified. So, buyer-beware.
I'm not sure if I received a different batch from the rest of the reviews but I cannot get this powder to mix correctly. I have tried both mixing less than the recommended amount in more water (so it's diluted) and the recommended amount and still the same result. Most of the powder doesn't mix and falls to the bottom of my container. The first few sips taste watered down and as you drink it gets thicker and less appetizing; I have to constantly shake it. It's grainy and mealy and there's clumps stuck to the bottom of my water bottle. It only tastes decent iced cold but sometimes during and after workouts, I do not wish to have that cold of water. It tastes the best right after it's been mixed and the longer it takes to drink the less likely I will because of how uneven the distribution of mix becomes. Quite frankly I am surprised at how much I don't like this and disappointed that it does not live up to other's reviews.
Not sure if I got a bad batch or if it's just me, but I got back from a long run, mixed up my first bottle of the Tropical flavor in ice water, took a swig, and just about lost it. The flavor was really bad, almost a medicinal/chemical taste. Not great, couldn't finish the bottle... I'm a fan/user of other Vega products, the Rest+Repair powder is awesome, but this was pretty gnarly. This tube will likely get dumped and recycled.
