This backpack is perfect. I like that there are two large separate compartments. One for my wallet and for my iPhone. The side pockets accommodate my sunglasses and car keys. The biggest plus is that all the pockets and compartments have zippers. You can't go wrong with this backpack!!!
Over the years I've become a minimalist, even when it comes to traveling oversea--without checking a bag. With minimalism comes an attempt to lighten the load as well as shrink the volume of it. This pack holds my iPad mini in its padded zippered area with a pocket perfectly suited for my passport and rail pass-things to keep both secure yet handy. The main cavity of the pack is large enough to fit a 16 oz. drink, my down vest, snacks, and my VB change purse and credit card holder. I'll store my cash in an interior zippered pocket to keep hidden. My charging brick fits nicely in a little pocket opposite the front zippered pocket where I can store my phone, lotion, and a tiny travel makeup kit with contact case, bandaids, etc. The side pockets store lip balm, hand sanitizer and wipes, and the ever important hand cloth to use in Japan. The straps are wide and soft, and the material overall seems lighter in weight than my other VB backpacks. What I like best is that the zippers keep everything in place, even after a hard break in my car sent my bag flying off the front seat onto the floor mat below...not always the case with the older style. I'll breeze through the airports with my Osprey Porter on my back and this bag worn on my chest until I reach my destination and see the sites with just my VB!
I bought this for a weekend trip to NYC for Christmas shopping. I liked it so much that I've continued to use it in on an every day basis. All the compartments and pockets are just perfect for me and it's so easy to slip on your back without looking large or obtrusive. I can slip my iPad mini in the large pocket along with 2 diapers and a small/thin pack of wipes. The middle section holds my wristlet wallet and lipsticks. The front section is for my phone. The small side pockets are very small and really only hold some gum or mints. My only complaint with the black is that it is picking up some lint from my winter scarfs/gloves and woolens, so I'm keeping my lint roller handy.
I needed a backpack style bag with a dressier look to use as a purse for long days on a trip to Southern France. I am pleased with the bag. I do wish it had an RFD passport compartment that was inside the main compartment of the bag or in the iPad compartment. I was able to use a black micro S hook to attach the two zippers so my contents were more secure while the bag is on my back.
Saw this on a woman on the ferry to Magic Kingdom. Needless to say 24 hours later I was buying it at the Vera Bradley store at Disney Springs. Couldn't pick a pattern since it didn't come in one I liked so went neutral solid in Navy. I am saving it for my next travel occasion (later this month) to use it. I am looking forward to trying it out. It seems a great size as it's not too big or too small, has compartments to help organize but wont feel like a suitcase on your back.
While I really like this back pack, it is smaller than I thought it would be, very glad that I did not pay full price for it! Way too pricey at it's original price. It Does hold a lot of things but the sheer size of it has rendered it not useful for my original intention of use. Love the Classic Navy color which was the reason for the purchase in the first place
This is my third VB backpack. It is as smart and functional as others, but not as sturdy. VB stood behind their product 100% with a replacement in a timely manner. Classic Navy color. Should be used for light duty, even though it will pack plenty, stay light if you want it to last.
I really like this bag. I like the size and the different compartments. It's lightweight and sits comfortably on my back. The only problem I've experienced it that the straps sometimes hurt between my arms. I probably just need to adjust them a little. Over all I do like this backpack.
I am a Flight Attendant and I travel the world . This backpack is perfect when I am pulling my luggage through airports, as I can have my purse on my back which gives me two free arms to carry my other bags. This is the third time I have used a black Vera Bradley backpack for my job!
I bought this to replace my old Vera Bradley backpack purse that I've had and loved for just around 10 years. It was finally showing so much wear and tear that I decided to get a new one. I tried to find one as similar to my old one as I could, and settled on the Hadley. It's obvious the quality in trim and hardware isn't as high as it was with my old one. I'll be shocked if this one lasts a good 2 years, let alone 10. Also, their aren't as many compartments in the Hadley, and they aren't as spacious as my former one. I know styles and designs must change, so I'm not as upset about that. I think what I'm most disappointed in is the obvious decline in quality. It'll do, but I wish it could be better.
