Powered up easy and the instructions are super easy to follow. Gave accurate results in seconds. Also gives you all the info you need on what fevers are high and dangerously high. How to accurately take oral, rectal and underarm temps. I highly recommend for kids the tip.of the thermometer is flexible makes underarm temps a breeze plus he did not realize i was taking his temperature. I wish i had this when he was a baby.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] * I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.* The Vicks ComfortFlex Thermometer with Fever InSight works well for people of every age group. I have used it orally on my 12 year old daughter and both rectally and in the armpit of my 3 month old baby boy, and every time I have used it, this thermometer has given me both consistent and accurate results. When designing this thermometer, they really put some thought into what people of all ages could benefit from. One feature that I like is that it has a soft, flexible tip that makes taking a rectal temperature more comfortable for your baby. Another helpful feature that older adults and the visually impaired may benefit from is the large display screen that lights up as follows; green for a normal temperature, orange for a low-grade fever and red for a high fever. Perhaps my favorite quality that this thermometer has is that it gives you very fast results. I have quite a few different thermometers in my house and they are of all different styles (under the tongue, in the ear, on the forehead and over the temple). Some of these were expensive, some were not... but out of them all, the Vicks ComfortFlex Thermometer was the fastest at giving me the results. This is a huge deal when you are dealing with a sick child who does NOT want to be messed with. Overall, I feel that this thermometer is reliable and seems like it will last us for many years to come. I highly recommend this thermometer!

The only thing is it might not be best for a child due to it being an under the tongue thermometer. I will say though it is easy to clean and the numbers are very easy to read! I'm a fan!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Take out of box. Press the on button. It beeps. Thermometer flashes “red, yellow green”. Displays last temperature read in big, easy to read numbers (reads both °F or °C), in the color range it falls in. Green is normal. Yellow indicates fever. Red indicates high fever. Then it's ready for use. For use orally, rectally or under arm. Less than 10 seconds under your tongue, it beeps several times to notify that you now have a clear, accurate view, lit up in the color range your temperature falls in. (Sorry folks, I'm going to stick with the oral version of this review.) Press that same button to turn off, or wait 30 seconds or so, it will beep & turn itself off. Saves your last displayed temp read. ITS SO EASY! So, besides being a mother of 2 & a step mother of 2 more… beginning around 6-7 years ago, I became a caretaker for my father who was diagnosed with MDS, which unfortunately progressed into full blown terminal leukemia. His fevers would spike to terrifying digits & it was crucial we had an accurate read of his temperature at all times. I bought him several, we were given several from the hospital… we had so many. Not a single one of them came close to having all the features of this thermometer. They all had small numbers that he needed readers to see & definitely couldn't read it in the dark. Some of the oral thermometers we used would take at least 60 seconds under the tongue for a read & the “rub across your forehead” options, just never seemed to be completely accurate. Had this thermometer been available back then? We would have bought him one to keep in every room of the house, in his hospital bag, in the car… and extras just in case. This would have made that part of his illness, that much easier. Vicks Comfort Flex literally thought of every way to make a thermometer perfect, then made it become a reality. 10 out of 10. As far as I know, there is no better thermometer available to purchase. Absolutely, the #1 best thermometer on the market.

I bought this thermometer for its ease of use and easy to read results. I really like the soft flexible tip; it's very comfortable. The “head” of the thermometer is also well designed. While remaining lightweight, it's large size makes it easy to grasp and to hold. The display is very easy to read. It is also easy to know if there's a fever at a glance by the temperature-to-color matching. It's nice, even if a little gimmicky. My only problem is the battery. It requires a CR1225 and it is not sold in the very stores that sell the thermometer. It's not sold in any store where I live. At best, I must order them online from Amazon or eBay, and have them shipped. It seems to have been an oversight (or assumption) in the battery's availability in the stores that would sell the thermometer, or a poor choice due to design or one of engineering. Five stars because it's a great thermometer but minus two because it's unusable without readily available batteries.
I have covid I sent someone to the store to get me a new thermometer because the other one that had bought previously from Walmart which was a Walmart brand had a dead battery which they don't carry the right size at the local walmart.. so, send him to pick the Vicks one gets it home the battery's dead what's the deal Walmart?! It won't read past 96° Id be dead if that were the case!!. Not a good thing to malfunction!!!! RIDICULOUS
This is the second one of these thermometers I have bought within 6 months. They work for a short while and stop. I have replaced the battery in both several times. Do not waste your money!
