My nine year old received this as a gift! He loves it. He loves hunting for records when we are out. He particularly enjoys that he can carry his case to Oma and Papa (his grandparents).
They replaced an other one I had bought with a power surge. They were so amazing during the process. I reached out asking what options were available from there. They immediately sent the replacement the next day.
I have a stash of old 45's that are not in good condition and wanted something to play them on without ruining the needle on an expensive turntable. Make sure you get the one that says it connects OUT to a bluetooth device. If it doesn't say that then the record player acts as a bluetooth player and plays from your external devices(totally useless since the speakers are not great). It's a lot of fun. I am not playing my good albums on it though. It may be ok, but not taking the chance.
I love It!!!! Can't wait to play some of my grandparents old records:)
All in all i'm positive. Internal speakers are dismal. Hooking up to external amp and speakers is the way to go. From headphones out you can control volume from turtable or amp or both. For the money it's a great value Cy Vane
Received the Journey + in a simple brown cardboard box, not the slick glossy graphics retail box which I think is very cool The overall function of this player is as expected. I went with the + version so I could use Bluetooth Out to connect to other speakers. The speakers in this player are a bit tiny to my ear. The front latch does not give confidence that it will stay closed and secure, very flimsy. I paid too much for this player because of the expensive shipping, but I wanted the black color and the local retailers did not have it in black.
i got this as a gift for christmas. The looks are very nice and not over top too much. But since it is a suitcase one, the speakers are smaller. I have no idea if it was mine, or the records i was playing. I have played three so far. 2 of which being over like 10 years old, and the was like.. distorted? I even played a new record my mom got today, and that even sounded not right. I don't know if its the speakers or the needle, because when i did bluetooth, it was perfect. so I'll see if i need a new needle. Which is most likely my problem.
We received a Journey + as a gift at a Christmas party and it worked great for nearly a single side of a record, and now audio is only heard via bluetooth speakers. I emailed Victrola for replacement/repair support and was told I'm out of luck without taking it to the original retailer. I'm dissapointed as I really like this thing and expected a bit more support when it failed so quickly.
I got this as a gift, and was very disappointed. I have other record players that are fine so I know its not my records. Maybe this one was a defective but the sound quality was very staticky and scratchy and I would not recommend it.
Got one of these at Christmas. It's been used maybe 7 or 8 times, tried to turn it on today and it started smoking and wouldn't come on. I won't buy victrola again, after googling it and seeing how many people have had the same issue. Terrible product, not worth a dime.
