I ordered this for my children for projects and crafts. It works great for school or home projects, even for my 3 year old. It does exactly what it says it does. The description of the cutter was very accurate.
I wasn't sure how this product would work. After reading the instructions and giving it a shot - I think it's great! My kids loved it too! All sorts of ideas were released!
I purchased this for my niece for her 8th birthday. She loves it and so does her older brother and sister. They will have hours of fun with this and I am happy that I purchased. My sister said it does a great job cutting and she plans on using it for scrapbooking as well. Highly recommended.
My 9 year old grandson has had a great time with this item. He is taking pride in learning to control the cutter, take his time, and produce really nice things. He especially loved making the 3D game. He is very creative and this fits in well with his other art/craft activity items. If you have a creative child, I would recommend this item. It is not a high precision tool, but it does a good job.
I'm still exploring this product because I just got the three C batteries required to make it work but do already like the on/off switch so batteries won't discharge prematurely. An avid crafter, I purchase many Crayola products for myself, allowing my grandchildren to use them when they visit and this product will fill those requirements quite well. I can use it myself when I need it and it will be a fun tool to use when my gkids come to visit.
My 11 year old daughter loves to make cards and decorate them. I thought this would be helpful for her in cutting out shapes and her drawings. I expected it to cut almost as quickly as tracing it; I was wrong. If you use it at almost the speed of tracing it only leave perforations and if you use it at the speed it can "cut" it takes forever! I also expected it to actually do some kind of cutting. Instead it works like a sewing machine; there's a needle that pumps up and down quickly. So basically you are not cutting it but putting so many holes in one line that when you push it, it comes out (and not easily). I found myself (my daughter lost interest quickly) trying to punch them out with my fingers while trying not to rip them. I purchased this when it was $21.97 and at that price it is definitely not worth it. I see, however, they have it on clearance for $10. At that price I guess it's worth a try if you don't mind any of the things I described.
We took this back to the store. You have to go over the same thing 4 or 5 times to get it to cut. Even then it is not even close to being smooth! We were dissappointed!!
Bought this for a 7 year old boy for Christmas. It would not even cut the paper provided! All it did was tear the paper. I would have excepted a lot better from a name like Crayola! Highly disappointed and would NOT recommend!
I bought this as a Christmas present for my 7 year old. We were both really excited at first, then not so excited, and now very disappointed. I wish I would have read other reviews before I made my purchase! This product doesn't cut nicely like advertised. It perforates, leaving a very jagged and sloppy edge. As if that wasn't bad enough, the cord is very short not giving you much room to work. This piece of junk is going back to the store.
I received this as a gift because i love to scrapbook. I thought it would be a great way to cut back on time spent cutting things out. I was very wrong! It is so difficult to use (for me-- let alone my 5 year old!) and i would not recommend it to anyone.
