Nice sized phone, not too small, and fits in my pocket w/o falling out, feels good in my hand (buttons easy to reach), bright screen, very responsive, and easy to use and personalize. It's my first smartphone, and I while I am still learning all its little tricks, I really enjoy using it! It has replaced my alarm clock, MP3 player, planner, and my address, photo and note books. By adding a Bible app, I have been able to read the Bible while I am waiting on line! I like it so much I ordered another one for a family member!
This is easily the best phone I have ever owned. I had the VM Triumph before this and the EVO blows it out of the water. The biggest complaint about this phone that I've seen is about the battery life. I am happy with it though. I would say it's typical of most Droids, its easy to switch on and off 4G, Wifi, GPS, and bluetooth to make it last longer. Battery life is probably similar or better than the Triumph. If I had to nitpick, I would say that it's kinda big. But it's not all bad because it means a big screen. That wouldn't keep me from highly recommending this phone. I was thinking about the VM Galaxy when I bought this and considering the price difference I'm extremely satisfied that I went with the EVO.
Awesome phone I would Highly reccomend to anyone whoes looking for a perfect phone!!!!
What I like: -Lots of features and preinstalled apps -availability of additional apps via google play -3D camera! -removable battery(just in case) -the ability to connect to public or home wi-fi instead of using data through Virgin -comes with an 8GB microSD card -huge screen(but the entire phone is pretty big...) -the screen is much more sensitive than my old LG800 What I don't like: -availability of rugged protective cases(had to order somewhere else) -the volume and power buttons are a little tricky to push, but my aftermarket case has its own "extensions" that make it easier -can't use a stylus -the battery life is pretty short out of the box, so I had to tweak some stuff. it's still not what I would like it to be, but I guess I can't complain too much. I had no trouble getting it activated and my number ported over to the new phone, customer service was great, and reception is almost - if not as good - as my old contract phone. Overall I love it. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking for a no-contract smartphone.
I purchased this phone yesterday and I absolutely love it. I switched from a ZTE Merit and I'm glad I did. This phone has a bigger screen, more internal memory, and has a better look to it. I didn't think I'd like the back of it, but I actually do. It seems more secure. The best part is that it's only $35 a month. I'm very satisfied with the service as well. The 3G speeds are pretty good and the phone is VERY quick to power on(about 5 seconds). I originally wanted to buy a prepaid iPhone, but I couldn't find one for under $350. This phone was only $150 and can do almost everything the iPhone can. If you want a speedy phone with Android 4.0, front-facing and rear-facing cameras, AND expandable memory then this is the way to go. I highly recommend it :)
This is a really good phone. I had the Optimus v from Virgin mobile . This phone is. an upgrade from the Optimus v.
I used to have AT&T 4G LTE but the monthly charges were outrageous and AT&T didn't have unlimited data for a plan anymore since they switched to tiered data plans. Since I had already purchased the Overdrive Pro from Virgin Mobile USA and haven't had a problem with it, I decided to get this HTC 4G Phone. I did purchase it from Virgin Mobile USA's website because it was on sale for $239.99 instead of $299.99. Eve though the 4G is Wimax, the latency is between 75 - 100 and down speed is around 10mbps while up speed is around 4mbps. I use this phone for both personal and business use and have no problem with signal, speed or throttling speed. I've gone over the 2.5GB limit a lot and before my monthly plan renews and Virgin Mobile USA has yet to throttle me to 256kbps (until my monthly plan renews). Make sure you check coverage on Virgin Mobile USA's website to see if you get good 4G coverage or decent 3G coverage BEFORE ordering the phone. Virgin Mobile USA only runs on Sprint's network and DOESN'T roam...so once you leave the Sprint coverage area you won't receive service (can't make calls, text, browse the web, etc).
I paid $299.99 for this phone but... a week later it was $239.00 on Virgins website. Also the hotspot feature will not work on the internet unless you pay an extra $15.00 a month. This is not disclosed.
Great phone!
This phone is supposed to be Virgin Mobile's version of the HTC EVO 3D. It almost is - except whoever messed with the hardware or software or some of the innerds really messed up. I had the 3D and loved it - which is why I purchased this after deciding to go sans contract. Constant errors....SMS....radio interference....update PRL and profile endlessly to attempt to straighten it out only last for a brief time. Network drops off, have to restart phone to get it back - or toggle the wifi on and off to jolt the phone (works sometimes not always#. This isn't just local - it is happening everywhere. Doing an internet search, you soon find out what I mean. Initially, you might not even know you have a problem - until you start hearing people tell you about calling and texting you and you don't know what they are talking about. I need dependable and reliable, so I returned my phone. I got the Samsung Galaxy Reverb and love it. Not quite the bells and whistles this one has, but it is darned good - and has a few great features that this phone does not. Even the LG Optimus Elite #which my daughter got) is a lot better than this one...and it is running 2.3. Unless you are a whiz at 'altering' your phone, or unless you want to wait patiently and hope for a VM update to this problem - you might consider another phone. This isn't just me - these are well known issues.
