A lighted-hearted, funny and high-spirited story, full of spice, rhythm, sensuality and romance. "Viva Zapato!" tells the tale of beach with support from her aunt, who lives in Brazil. When her aunts sends her a pair of flashy platform shoes instead of the money to start-up the restaurant, she angrily sells the useless gift for spare change. Her dream seems to have faded away, but only until she discovers that the money was hidden inside the heel of the shoe. The zany search for the shoe begins. As she follows its footsteps through the streets of Havana, she runs into quirky, colorful characters that bring Viva Zapato! and Dolores' dreams to life. this story is apparently a quest for a missing pair of shoes, but it is actually a quest for love and happiness, amidst two different realities and the efforts that people make to improve their lot. this picture won Best Film at the Miami Brazilian Film Festival 2003.
