With tv signals going digital, a station that used to broadcast one channel can now broadcast subchannels. So you may now be able to receive multiple channels from one station. This is why I chose to put up an antenna. I now receive several HD channels over the airwaves for free. The poles I purchased to put up the antenna were of good quality, and had a nice painted finish. The price was also much lower than other stores I checked.
used all the pipes for my tv antenna project finally got it into the frozen ground this week and set in cement also
I wanted to make my own Tv antenna mast, these extensions are great for this ! I put six togather and installed my antenna on top. The extensions slide into each other and I used guide wires (three). The poles are painted gold in color and look good! The price was Ok! and delivery was good! If you need to make or extend your Antenna mast mount, you need these!
The RCA 53" Antenna Mast Mount Extension was the perfect item for the required application. It actually made a difference in picture quality after I raised my antenna higher using the RCA 53" Antenna Mast Mount Extension. I would recommend this product.
Wouldn't fit the antenna mount for RCA Suburban Mini Yagi Digital Outdoor Antenna with Mast, and wouldn't fit the antenna mast I had. They should post the sizes for the ends instead of just the length.
Very thin walled tubing is used for this mast. It will not stand the weight of a very heavy antenna especially if three or more extensions are used at once. They bend and break when raising the mast. Much too light weight construction.
Pole bent before we were able to even fully attach the antenna. Very poor quality. We will be returning it. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Audiovox (or RCA) does not publish specifications for this item and none of their retail vendors seem to have a clue. Most manufacturers list the thickness of their segmented antenna poles at 16 or 18 gauge (0.060 or 0.048 inches). I measured the material thickness of this item at 0.030 inches. It is listed as galvanized steel. It is not. It appears to be stainless steel (it is too heavy to be aluminum and a magnet is not attracted to it). Then reduced size end is NOT 'swedged'. It is crimped producing a very unusual 'out of round' shape . The opposite end has a small bit of rectangular metal to the inside diameter (see attached pictures). I was loath to wait another week for a replacement o be delivered. Fortunately I only needed about 3 feet and could cut both ends off and toss them in the scrap bin. Dimensions: 54 inches long x 1.255 inch outside diameter Weight: 1.51 pounds
Alert. The mast is listed as 53" in length when it's actually 54". More importantly, the O.D. (outside diameter) is listed as 1.80" when it's actually a standard 1.25". The stated mis-measurement caused me a lot of grief.
This product was not heavy enough to do the job. The gauge of metal it was made of was too light. The wind bent it over and destroyed it. I would not recommend it.
