Paint sprayer very easy to use. Worked well and painted evenly. Would recommend using adapter for larger jobs. Worst part was cleaning it.
Did a really nice job when using the supplied cup. Never did get it to work with the hose. Never seemed to have enough suction to get it out of the can. Did not want to thin paint because of running so just used the cup. Painted numerous pieces of lawn furniture plus 20 shutters. Used both latex and oil paint. Worked great with either. I even used it to paint some damage on my car. After body work I primed and final coated a fender. Not a bad job, not factory, but a lot cheaper. Figured I payed for the gun right there. Take it from me, be extra sure you clean it well and dry it out before you put it away or be prepared for some poor results the next time you go to use it.
Ok. Like alot of other people I was leary of buying this because of the bad reviews. However, I have used it twice and I have had no problems with the sprayer. I have learned when reading reviews most people only give a review when they have a bad experience. So to start people say you can't spray at angles. Well you can't spray more then a 45 degree angle with this model. This model has a straight tube and not a the bending tube. If you want to spray at angles then you need the other Power Paint Plus that is made for that. Next is people saying it only works once then never again. I haven't had that problem. You have to be very dilegent in cleaning the sprayer immediately after painting. To do this you will need a tooth brush a shallow pan like a paint rolling pain etc. and fill it with paint thiner. Also you will need a 10 gallon bucket. Soak all the parts in thiner and scrub them real well with the supplied brush. Fill the bucket with water and rinse parts in water. Wipe with a paper towel and you are golden. I have not used the hose that sits directly in paint bucket since most people were having problems with the tube folding up. I painted a storage building with this sprayer. It took me an hour and a half to paint one side with a roller and brush. It took me 1 hour with the sprayer to paint the 3 other sides. You can't expect to get a pro sprayer for $ 100 bucks but this will do the job much faster and easier then roller and paint brush. All in all for $ 100 bucks you can't go wrong and saves you a ton of time. I have seen people saying they can't find any more oil for the machine. It is just w-40 that they supply you in a drop bottle. The only thing I can see any one haveing to order would be the atomizer. All in all it's a good product. You just need to read the directions. Yes people who say that it leaks. If you would have read the directions it tells you why the machine is doing that. The only cons I found was the paint cup just doesn't hold enough paint but if it were any bigger it would be to heavy. Also people say it is loud. They must not work with many power tools. It not any worse then a sander or chainsaw. Just remember when reading reviews most people who are happy with the product won't review it. People who have had bad experineces will. So just take out about half of the bad reviews and that should give you a decent review for what you are looking for.
This product worked exceptionally well when first purchased! I used it to prime and paint modlings in 2 different rooms and they turned out terriffic! I had purchased the base model sprayer 2 years ago and that worked well for a bit then I could not even spray water through it without the piston seizing up. Last year I purchased the Power Painter Plus and used it a couple times cleaning it throughly!! now I am attempting to paint my Shed and I couldn't even get a 5 foot section sprayed without having the piston seize up. I attempted several times to clean/ oil the unit and it would work very briefly, a few seconds then stop again. I even tried to thin the Kilz primer and use the top coat only in case the paint was too thick but i still ended up with the same result. I am disgusted and not sure I will purchase another!
I just finished painting the exterior of my house with this spray painter and I spent more time preping my house than painting it! It works fine just do not let the paint get low. I would recommend you use the adaptor instead of the quart size container for large jobs for this reason. Cleaning it is very difficult, which is the only downside.
I had the ABSOLUTE worse luck with this painter. First I tried to paint my cabinet doors. The painter constantly hiccuped spitting blobs of paint all of the doors, i was forced to re-roll and brush them. This was right out of the box, using the quart cup attachment. Next, i thought i would try to spray my ceiling....BAD CHOICE... i used the feed lines from the gun straight to the 5 gallon bucket of paint. First the 6' long line is USELESS, i had to prop it up on top of boxes to get the height needed to spray, next the line is so rigid and wound in a circle that the filter kept un-submerging itself causing the gun to splatter again, THEN the motor died after 5 mins of use. It was an absolutely failure. So after two attempts i am left with a worthless broken spray gun. FYI i am a professional carpenter and very handy, i followed all directions and it still failed.
less than a gal . of latex primer it will no longer prime the plastic end of the pump piston is hammered when it did spray it was good going to try ordering new pump assy. and hope it lasts longer if not it becomes salmon bait
If you are buying this sprayer to spray latex paint; forget it. You will spend more time unplugging the sprayer than painting. It will be a dust collector in my garage until I decide to throw it in the trash. I hope that Wagner corp. enjoys my money as I will not be buying any of their products in the future!
My husband and I bought this product with apparently too high of hopes. We really just wanted something to do a nice job, but this thing is a real pain. Paint clumps onto the wall, making it all uneven and does not look good at all. It makes a HUGE mess. Paint everywhere, it is just ridiculous. Don't waste your money on this!
The housing unit, not the hose, leaks continuously from the spray end and the just above where you tighten the extension adapter. Leaves a nice little squiggly trail the entire way on the floor. If you buy this product, soak the tube in hot water for a while and straighten it the best you can, otherwise it just keeps curling up and popping out of the paint can. The clip won't hold it in place. Clean up wasn't as bad as I imagined from the other posts, unless you count trying to get out of the room without bringing painted footprints with you! Machine randomly stops spraying, so you have to wait for it to restart, at which time it blows a glob of paint on the wall. I threw it out. I'm too frustrated to clean it and try to get my money back since the inside instructions say you have to contact the manufacturer first. I'll rent a professional machine on Monday or go back to rollers and brushes!
