I have been cutting my own hair and friends for 15+ yrs. I made a few errors when I first started but Found The Wahl set as good or better than any I have used. If you are a first time user you might want to find someone to advise you or settle foe a few repair visits to a barber. All in all it is easy to learn, just a bit more than most expect.
I never bought a clipper with the lever on the side, and I was having some difficulty figuring out if the blades were aligned properly as it did not seem to shave well. I waited till I got my haircut last night and brought the shave kit with me to the girl who cuts my hair. To my surprise she also uses Wahl shavers, both professionally at work, but also for "side jobs" at home! She adjusted the hight lever and proceeded to cut my hair with my own shaver. It worked excellent for her, and seemed to me to cut as well as her own did. Blade alignment was not an issue, despite "looking" out of adjustment as the instructions indicated they seemed to be. Her's was slightly heavier, as it is made for daily use in salon's and barber shops and the like. The battery operated small trimmer works OK. It cuts kind of coarsely if that is a word to describe a shaver. Overall, for what I spent, you really cant get better shaver for the money.
Nice solid clipper set. Need a pair of scissors in the kit. Thought it was supposed to come with it, but I didn't have one in my set. I cut three heads every month and this is a very nice pair.
Received my haircutting kit on time and in good condition. Very happy with The quality of The trimmer and all the accessories provided.
I'd had both a hair clipper and a Wahl beard groomer for about 17 years. They both were getting dull, and the Wahl was a rechargeable whose battery would no longer charge. So I was glad to find this complete set from Wahl for a great price. Replaced both the old ones for about what one of each would cost at other outlets. Very satisfied with both the hair clipper and the beard trimmer. And I have rechargeable AA batteries for the beard clipper. I'd recommend this set.
Is just an excellent buy..and my recommendation is that you need to buy AA rechargeable batteries...
I'm used to the heavy weight of professional clippers, these are super lightweight; I thought I would drop them and break them because they are so light. They got the job done though so I can't really complain, the only knock I have is the cord is not a heavy-duty cord; it's thin like a cord for one of those little clip-on desk fans.
I bought this to replace my old clippers. I choose this kit because I liked the idea of having a separate beard trimmer. unfortunately, the beard trimmer is not up to the task when it comes to my beard. I don't know if its that the trimmer is weak or that my beard is a combination of wire brush and steel wool. I can say that this isn't the first beard trimmer or electric razor to jam up when trying to plow through my five day stubble. The hair trimmer works great though and keeps my charlie brown sphere neat and trim. I also use it on my face as it is up to the task. I haven't had much call to use the attachments as it is winter and I need my thick layer of body hair to ward off the subzero temperatures outside. They will get more use during the summer. Believe me, I never want to be mistaken for a bear in the woods again.
This is great, the battery operated unit is very powerful and comfortable in your hand... Great to use if you shave your head. I would recommend this to anyone.
Good kit. The hair cutting machine connects to the power outlet, which means no batteries and wireless, so it's very strong. The small trimer works on AA batteries which are not included, and it's a bit wierd. Why can't it be rechargeable? Also, not enough sizes for the small one. Sum up: good for haircut, not for beard and body hair.
