I've been cutting hair for years and these are a good set of clippers; almost as good as professional and at a great price. They cut well and work good on an African American man-brothers are on the cover for a reason. If you know how to adjust them, they do get very close. Be careful if you don't what you are doing, they can cut your skin. They are relatively quiet and don't heat up too quickly. They are a little bulky if you are doing your own hair and need to do trims/edge-ups; but not a problem if you know what you are doing. The only real issue is the cheap combs/gaurds; which can break easily and cost too much to replace-might as well buy a cheaper set just for the combs. They should sell the combs/gaurds individually for like $0.50-$1 each. I'm happy with the purchase. Longevity and those combs/gaurds are my only concerns now.
