I have suffered with the sun on my desk for a few years and finally purchased this beauty! I love that it isn't ornate and regardless of the umbrella color, it compliments the deck. It has substantial weight but not enough that it can not be lifted. I also purchased umbrella from Hayneedle and ensured it would fit perfectly. I am very pleased with this umbrella base. Do not hesitate to purchase.
Finally! A base that's heavy enough to keep the table from falling over with the umbrella in high winds.
Easy to put together. Weight is good. Goes well with the table & chairs I purchased from hayneede.

Very sturdy. Easy to put together. Super heavy so be careful trying to take it out of the packaging.
This base is real sturdy and looks great under my black patio table. It was easy to assemble except for one thing. I couldn't figure out how the pole diameter adapters are supposed to work. The web page says you can use the adapters to handle six different umbrella pole diameters but I could only figure out three. There was absolutely no mention of how to use the adapters in the enclosed instructions. Fortunately, I made it work for my umbrella but be forewarned.
Just received this umbrella base & I am very pleased with its appearance; however, it does not weigh 40 lbs the description indicated. When it shipped the shipping weight was noted as 33 lbs & this agrees with what my scales says. Fortunately, I am using this with a table instead of a free standing umbrella or I would probably have to return it.
I purchased this stand to use with an umbrella that has a 1.85 inch pole. This base claims it can be used with a pole of up to 2 inches. I was able to squeeze the pole into the base pole after much resistance but was unable to secure with screw hold since it didn't go down the required distance. Very tight fit!! Will have to disconnect pole from base by unscrewing it from bottom of base at the end of the season.
I ordered 2 of these umbrella bases in March to prepare for the summer season, a few weeks later after opening my pool I set one of the bases up under a patio table, 2 weeks later I noticed a large crack had appeared across the entire base for no apparent. I contacted manufacture, Walker Edison, no help, then Walmart; referred to Home Square who advised it was outside there normal return policy since over 30 days. I am trying to find out what the warranty is on this base. Looks like I may be eating a defective useless umbrella base because I didn't use it Immediately. square
