This macaroni salad is delicious it tastes like homemade.
I happen to try this product hoping it might be good and the family was blown away at how good it was. It is sweet but reminds me of a recipe my mom use to make long ago. BUT...every time I go in the store they are OUT. Its a 40 mile RT to the store so it's not like I can go there every day to see if they happen to have it. I talked to a deli employee who said she would set 2 aside for me last week. I had company here that weekend and again this weekend. I'm handicapped so it's not easy for me to make it from scratch hoping maybe it would taste the same. I called Walmart in Fairfield today and was going to see if I could have 3- 2 lbs. kept for me till I could get in on Sat. The gal was going to do it until the manager of deli (I think this was who she was) got on the phone. She basically said I was welcomed to come in the store and see if they have it but she won't let people order stuff over the phone. I definitely can't drive in to this WalMart several times a week wondering if they have it or not. I understand if they do it for one they would have to do it for everyone but I hardly bet they get that many calls requesting 3 - 2lb. containers of Amish Macaroni Salad set aside till Sat. so I have it for visiting family this coming weekend. It's sad that they know it's a very popular item but don't keep enough stocked on the shelf.
Quite by accident I stumbled on this macaroni salad in the refrigerated section at Walmart. I love macaroni salad and have tried several recipes over the years. I decided to try this and it blew me away. It is the best macaroni salad I have ever eaten. I have tried several times to duplicate but have never succeeded at reaching the same melt in your mouth taste. I have served it several times when I have had guests for lunch and it all disappears in the blink of an eye. I have given up trying to duplicate and just purchase it at Walmart. Just wish they packaged in a larger container. I have created a number of Amish macaroni salad lovers.
This macaroni salad is delicious! It's hard to find pre-made salad that tastes like home-made but this fits the bill.
If you love a good Mac salad, you will love this one!! By far my favorite bc it has a sweet balanced flavor! It is not your regular Mac salad!! It also has egg in it! Must try this at least once!

If your taste in macaroni salad runs on the sweet side, this is the salad for you. Lots of firm macaroni, small amount of celery and lots of creamy sweet dressing make this macaroni salad a favorite in my house.
This macaroni salad is the best I have ever tasted. Hands down excellent. I have bought it for about 3 yrs now and it is always consistently good. It has a tangy but sweet flavor mouth watering dressing that melts in your mouth. Little bits of carrot and celery don't crunch or add too much veggie crunch but do add nicely to the well made macaroni noodles. It even has bits of egg in it. DELICIOUS FLAVOR! Can't duplicate at home. I have come close but not exactly. You've gotta try it!
If you don't want or there's no time to cook, this is a very good and tasty option
