This a good phone. Responds well to touch. Good display. Only thing volume isn't too good Had to download an application to increase volume. Otherwise pretty good product
My windows phone got stuck in airplane mode and I needed a quick replacement that was reasonable. This is by far better than my windows phone however I will miss Cortana, but for the money $70.00 after tax I coulnd ask for a faster loading and 4G LTE. Sure there are better phones that cost a lot more but this surpassed my Nokia Windows Phone by far, and took my micro-sim card, which most phones dont even tell what type of sim card they use.
I have had this phone for about a month now and overall it is fantastic. It runs smoothly, it has a pretty good display, it performs comparably to a note 4 i used to have. The price is fantastic, got it at 65dollars, not bad at all, i had the note 4 before this, and coming from my experience with the note 4, this one is comparable in most aspects considering the price. Anyways, the back camera is pretty bad. The front camera is even worse. Really do not recommend for pictures, selfies, video calling etc.. besides the camera being the biggest downside it was a great buy. Battery lasts all day
I wanted to wait at least 2 weeks before I wrote this review, and now that I've had the opportunity to use it for a while, I have to say, for the price it is hard to beat. It can do everything I need it to do, it's fast, and I haven't had any dropped calls at all. I can't speak too much for the camera because I don't take selfies, but everything else, the wifi, gps, google voice commands, etc. all work great ! A friend who owns an I-phone 4 who was going to upgrade has since decided to buy this phone instead. Now I wouldn't say it's that good, but a 4.5" screen, quad core processor and ease of use make this a great phone for the price.
The phone has a lot of nice features that most expensive models offer. I got the prepaid T-Mobile $40. plan it offers unlimited talk and text w/1gb. But you can get the Walmart plan for $30 a month, and for the price of the phone of $65. you can't beat it. I saw the same phone in the T-Mobile store at the mall for $149.99. The phone protector is also cheaper at Walmart. I also transferred my old number as long as it's still connected and you have your account number from provider. The phone has front and back cameras. It also streams from Netflix without problems and it functions fast.
I just smashed my old phone and needed something quick ,so far this one is not bad ,I tried sharing data with laptop and speed was up to 24Mbps download and up to 15Mbps upload which is very good I say ,powers up quick enough ,runs mostly smooth ,just watch how many browser windows you have open ,my biggest consideration is a camera - its non focus camera which means focus is fixed and you need to be at least 3-4 feet from object to get decent picture plus night pics are pretty bad ,if its a day time and and you are few yards from object pics look OK but still nothing special ,battery is 2000mah which will keep you running all day or 2 days if not using the phone all the time ,if camera was better considering price I would give the phone 4.5 stars but I can give only 3
I bought two of these phones in early June 2015. Within a day or two, the screen on one of them would turn black and stay black after dialing. Nothing would bring the screen back to life. After a few minutes the screen would magically light up again. This was only happening on one of the two units I bought so I can certainly rule out user error. I quickly returned this phone and picked another one only to have the same issue happen again. I am hesitant to try a 3rd one. I believe this issue might be a faulty proximity switch which is on the front face of the phone. For some reason the phone senses that is up against your face even when it is not. The screen stays black rendering it useless for a few minutes after dialing. Seems like it could be a decent phone, but getting 2 out of 3 faulty ones is not very good odds.
This phone was actually purchased for my wife who dropped hers in a lake while we were celebrating our anniversary. I was skeptical right from the purchase only because I wasn't familiar with the brand Alcatel, but my wife wanted it and it was obviously reasonably priced, so I went along with it. It didn't take long before before she started telling me how much she HATED it and all the issues it has. I myself think the biggest issue is the fact that it does randomly turn off. It seems to do it most often when you set it down which makes me want to think that the battery may not fit in tightly enough and loses contact when you set it down. When it comes to smartphones, I've always been partial to the Androids, never really cared too much for the Iphones, but i must say that the operating system on this phone is just sad. I know that all operating systems have their glitches, but this phone is just ridiculous, from apps not wanting to load to it randomly closing them out, it's just frustrating. Haven't had any issues with the screen blacking out...yet, but every other issue has made it apparent that this phone is just a hunk of junk and I would strongly advise going with another option if at all possible!!! I know it's cheap, but in this case, you don't get what you paid for, you get less!!!
broke on me after a year...plastic on and off fell off so now I have to buy a new phone...is so horrilble and it always says the storage is full so sometimes i HAD to delete all my pics and my apps so the storage wont be full and this is with a SD card....is not a good buy...I dont recommend it at all........If I can give it a zero I would but one is the lowest.
I have had a lot of problems with this phone. It wiped out every app and most of my pictures on the SD card, then refused to download anything so I could replace them, stating that the phone storage was full. Also. the screen would black out when I made some calls, and nothing would bring it back on. Eventually (up to 10 minutes one time) it has to restart. I called their customer service, and they were very helpful, walking me through the process I needed to do to MANUALLY dump the memory trash that was clogging it up in the caches. They explained that when it gets too much gunk in there, it will start randomly zapping things off your pics and apps to keep working. Oh yeah, and you have to perform this manual trash dump EVERY WEEK, or your stuff will start magically disappearing! This is outrageous. Now I am in the process of re-downloading all the apps I lost, but the data on them is now gone, so on games, all my progress is shot. It says it has 1.8 gigs of storage, but with all the pre-loaded programs that you cannot move to the SD card, there is only 374 Mb left to download apps! So be very choosy about what you want to use that space on. This takes terrible pictures, especially close up. The battery drain is astounding. I have to keep WI-fi and data off unless I need it, then I had better be near an outlet with my charger.
