This phone hasn't given me any problems since I bought it besides occasionally being slow (which is normal I think on even high quality phones) and the screen not lighting up when I'm trying to to hang up on a cal.. (I've also had this problem on a Samsung Galaxy s5 thought)
Those who bought this phone and are giving it one star have to realize something very important, you bought a smartphone for only $60, or if you walked into Walmart at the right time last year, $39 on sale. This should tell you quickly that you're not going to get the amenities of a Samsung Galaxy, Iphone, etc... The phone doesn't have the storage capacity of it's more expensive competitors, with only enough memory for one big game but can hold a few smaller games. The navigation, tools and size of the phone is average for a phone of its type. The one amenity that is quite good for the price is the camera. The phone has a darn good camera for such a cheap smartphone. So overall, if you're on a budget and want a smartphone that can do all the basics for you, this is a great phone you.
I have bought this phone for $32.39, out the door at Best Buy store. Everything works well, it came with the SIM card so I don''t know what the other reviewer was talking about. You cannot block incoming messages but can block any incoming phone. Window phones you have the option to block both but not with the ZTE Obsidian phone. Large screen and yes it can use LTE Tmobile network. I just put my mini SIM card from my lumia 635 window phone in the ZTE Obsidian and it worked without any issue. For under $35 for the smart phone, it works great. movies are great and the back camera came with a flash thus pictures came out clear. Bought my casing and screen protector from ebay.
Switched from Cricket to Family Mobile. Purchased this phone because my phone with cricket was broke. Had not had it a year. This phone is the same brand I had with Cricket, but cost considerably less. A phone for under $40.00 with many of the same features I used on my more expensive phone, makes this purchase a good buy. The phone is small, however, the volume is great. I am able to use it for my job, and it is a low cost replacement phone that I am satisfied with. Let's hope I still feel that way down the line.
I had to return another phone yesterday because it wasn't working at all, got this phone, it works MUCH better, but you cannot move any apps to the SD card if you choose to use one. which is a problem for me because I have a lot of apps I put on my phone to tweak it and make it my personal phone. I cannot do that with this phone and it's aggravating. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone for that fact alone.
Good phone for teenager when you don't want to break the bank buying a more expensive cell phone.
Its a decent phone, but just has too many issues... Half the time I have no service, the other half, its fine. It refuses to download certain apps like Facebook, and the Google play constantly crashes.
This phone doesn't support hd-voice or VoLTE. This means if you're in a band 12 LTE area, you wont be able to make phone calls, but you can surf the web. If you find yourself in an emergency situation, this is not a good thing. Other cons: this phone feels super cheap. I mean, it is cheap, but it feels just like a toy. I'd recommend spending a tiny bit more for the Alcatel Astro Pop which feels infinitely better in the hand. The alcatel also has a slightly higher resolution screen, supports band 12 and VoLTE with HD-Voice, among other things.
I have an Alcatel pop thru family mobile works great, bought this phone just for something different and I can't even send text I'm constantly getting unable to send message. I also hate that I have an SD card and this phone will not allow anything to be moved to it taking up all the available storage on phone which isn't much.
I have read a couple of the reviews regarding the ZTE Obsidian. Most were not very clear about why the phone was rated one star. The main reason why no one should purchase the ZTE Obsidian is because it has an absurdly small amount of internal memory. And since it has an absurdly small amount of internal memory, someone is going to receive a very nasty surprise when they realize that they can't download ALL their favorite apps on to the phone. Now, what compounds the problem is fact that the phone comes with Marshmallow OS. I later learned after realizing that my internal memory was full that Marshmallow do NOT allow anyone to transfer apps from the internal memory to the external SD card. The ONLY work around is to root the phone meaning override Marshmallow's restrictions on transferring apps by gaining complete administrative control of the OS. So, if you are a techie, go for it! If not, buy a phone with larger internal memory!
