I purchased outdoor nest cameras for my house and realized it's not a good idea using them cordless for an extended amount of time, when there's a lot of activity. I decided to purchase the Wasserstein solar panels. It's worth 100 percent worth it. I can now leave my cameras running.
Glad that I purchased this, saves me a lot of time. No more notifications or checking the battery level of my nest cam, or having to take it down and bring it inside to charge it.
I didn't want to mess around with taking the security cameras down every 3 months to charge them, particularly because I also installed the anti-theft mounts. These solar panels are the perfect, low-maintenance solution.
Easy to install - took about 10 minutes - and so far seems to keep my Google Nest Cam (battery) charged. I tried a generic solar panel before ordering the Wasserstein, however the generic panels do not have the connector required to let the camera know it's connected to solar, and so the camera thinks it's connected to constant power, streams 24 / 7, and drains the camera's battery in about 2 days. Not so the Wasserstein - it has the half circle connector pattern (as opposed to the straight line connectors that come with the camera), and the Google Home app correctly shows "solar", not "plugged in".
A really good product, it works as it should. I think what is missing is that you can see 24/7 monitoring.
Good and perfect product, I love it , keep on the good job
Does the job and now I don't have to be concerned about a low battery while I'm away from the house.
Easy clean install. Seems to provide enough power to the device where I will not have to remove and charge. Would buy again if needed. If anything changes in a few months this review will be updated.
works great for the most part. I wish the it can power the camera 24x7.
I've had this solar charger for about a month, in the summer, when the sun is shining the most. So far, it appears to be working to keep the Google Nest Camera charged at all times. A couple of issues that affected my application: I installed this onto a wooden fence, which was easy, but what I did not like was the supposed "180 degree" mount. It's not actually 180 degrees, only 180 degrees in one plane, but not in the plane perpendicular to that. This was important for me, because I was hoping the install it so that it provides some rain and snow protection, like a roof, over my camera. I feel that the design could be better to allow a more complete range of motion. Secondly, the cable is quite long, which can be a good thing if your camera is far from the panel. In my case, it is way to long, so I have to devise a way to hide the excess cable. I am hoping to find a more aesthetically pleasing way to manage this long cable, so that it does not look like an eyesore. It would be nice if some better form of cable management was provided by the company, but I think this should be an easy enough issue to solve, in my case. I tried the peel and stick cable holders, but they fell off in no time - lasted about a day or two. In summary, a (so far) reliable way to conveniently power my camera. Winter performance will be important and remains to be seen. It could use better cable management options, and a mount with a better range of motion.
