A good garbage disposal should operate trouble free for years. Because I have used this for only a week, I can only review the install. We had a Badger 5 by in-sink-erater (or something close to that). It was used when we moved in. It suddenly developed hole in the side of grinding chamber, no strange objects were found to have caused it. The plastic had developed whitish weak areas. I wanted a different brand. A quick search discovered some Waste King models mount on ISE flanges. I plugged the hole in the Badger and disconnected the power. I ordered the L-9950 and it arrived in a few days. In the box is what looks like an extra collar, another reviewer gave a clue it was an ISE adapter. I removed all flange parts and the original flexible collar from the new Waste King unit, maybe a pound of extra parts. I put the adapter collar on the disposal balanced it on my toes and installed it. I used the original splash shield since it drains faster, but I am using the classier Waste King metal drain plug. Total plumbing time maybe thirty minutes, most of that was figuring out which of the new parts to not use. I then spent the rest of the day making two trips to the hardware store for small purchases to install a handy box and receptacle under the sink. The original install had a three inch long conduit stub with an EMT to BX adapter. In case of future service I wanted a positive disconnect near the motor. I left the plug cord on the unit and changed the cabinet wiring. The electrical looks nice and feels solid, but it took most of the day.
There is no better value than waste king and no easier install. If you are using in a new install the supplied flange is easy to use and if you have an existing Insinkerator they supply the adapter for mounting right to the existing flange. Install took less than 30 minutes. Very quiet compared to the Insinkerator 444 that this replaced.

The unit was easy to install, with a little help from my neighbor. It is quiet and powerful. I would recommend the Waste King over the ISE any day.
I bought this unit as the most economical I could find with all non corrosive components exposed to liquid. Every Badger I have owned (all installed by builders) have failed due to corrosion. I have always replaced them with ISE/Kenmores with SS components. None that I installed have ever failed. This one has an in home warranty as well as all SS/composite grinding elements. It fits the ISE piping perfectly so I did not have to change the pipes. I think it's a great value.
easy to install. I had to replace discharge arm because it cracked. Otherwise great value.
Was much cheaper on-line at Wal-Mart than other sources. Replaces a unit purchased at Sears that only last a year. Very quiet.

It is a whole lot lighter than I thought it would be. The gray outside case is just a plastic shell but seems to be ok. Kind of sneaky to take up extra space under the sink just so the pics can make it look all big and beefy. Way easy to hook up though, just taped the old disposal ring clamp counter clock wise with a hammer and it came right off. BIG TIP!.. Use a floor jack from your garage and set the unit on it. Then jack it up into place under the old sink mount. This will hold it in place while you use both hands to position the ring clamp and hand turn to get it started. When snug, use a hammer to tap the ring clockwise to tighten. Tighten a little at a time and test by running the water with the disposal running, if it leaks around the collar, tap till tighter. If you have a plastic or Ameracast sink like mine go ease so as not to crack the sing. Tap tap tap slow and easy. This unit is the $129.00 model which was mid price range with a 10 year in home warranty so we will see how it holds up. My last unit was a Badger from Home Depot, cost the same but only lasted 3 years with only a 2 year warranty. Good luck!
I had a guy come install this product and watched him through the whole process just to find out that it had a leak by the reset button. Since I bought it online I could not exchange it for a new one and now I gotta go return it
