I had this professionally installed with the purchase of my new house. It is quieter than any other disposal I've ever had in any of the apartments I rented, so I am feeling pretty good about my on-line, novice purchase. It was affordable and it is working great! I use it pretty much every day disposing the wastefulness of my 4 year old and am quite pleased with how it is working for me! I haven't detected any odors from leftover waste, but I use the little sink "plinks" once a week and after I dispose of strong smelling food items like onions. Hope you find this review helpful!
Our old disposal was just too noisy. Did a great deal of research and found the "best rated" disposals were kinda pricey. Thought we would try this 3/4 hp machine over the 1/2 that we had before. Since both were Waste Kings, installation was basically a twist off, twist on process. I had to swap out the power cord because the new one was too short. Does the job and is pretty quiet to boot.
I've installed several disposers and this was the easiest and quickest. It is quieter than the unit it replaced. Only used it for a week so don't know about durability. Very happy with it.
One of the best disposers I have ever owned. Top quality and highest warranty around - includes parts and labor for 10 years. Corrosion resistant polymer grinding chamber housing and stainless that will not corrode as the aluminum ones.
I saw this same item else ware for $60 more. I was shopping for a disposal that had a removable splash guard. The Waste King L3300 was one of the few that have that. This unit is powerful, durable, quiet, and some other units with the same features cost $300. And none of them had the 10 year, in home warrantee. Highly recommended.
A great disposal, quiet and inexpensive. High consumer reports rating and best price I could find. Been using for several weeks. Only minor annoyance is that the drain opening is a little smaller than my last one. My hand cannot reach into this one if something falls in. Maybe that is a good thing.
Two weeks ago my plumber replaced a 15 year old Insinkerator with this Wasteking based solely on recent reviews of both products. He said it was easy to install and was finished in less than an hour. My original Insinkerator disposal did not have a plastic housing which is probably why it lasted so long. It seems that disposasl nowadays all have plastic outside including this one. After much research it seemed to me that there were less problems with cracks and leaking with the Wasteking and a decidedly more responsive customer service when problems arose. A huge selling point was the 10 year inhome warranty. I expect this one to outlast me.
After reading the reviews on the different brands of disposals I decided on the 3/4 hp Waste King. Would have purchased the 1 hp for the lifetime warranty but it just seemed a bit large for my cabinet. My biggest issue was removal of my old disposal, probably been in at least 20 years. I would suggest coating the old with some penetrant a few days before trying to remove an older unit. However, a big hammer some vice grips, and some elbow grease got the old unit out. If you follow the instructions and go through assembly with the unit out, install is a breeze. My only suggestion , and it's not required is to have an assistant when attaching the disposal to the mount, it just makes it easier. As for the unit itself, 3/4 seems like more than enough power, noise is about what I'd expect. I think the technical writer did an excellent job with the instructions ...it couldn't be any plainer. Shipping to store was fast, all in all just a good purchase.
I decided to order this disposal online after reading its reviews and doing a little side by side comparison instead of picking up a 'Clarkman' from the local Home Improvement Store. We have only had the disposal for a week now but the ease of installation, warranty, quality of parts, and how quiet the disposal is couldn't be beat. I would recommend this disposal to anyone in the market for one.
I guess it's a good product but didn't know the entire thing was going to be plastic. I had to re-wire the plug because I don't have a direct outlet to plug into, so I had to go buy extra parts (figured these would have been included). The sink connection was all plastic as well so it isn't as durable as I expected. It didn't really meet my expectations after reading the reviews on here. It just seams to be a really cheap alternative and wish I would have paid a little more for something more durable. This wasn't my first disposal install since I have rental property and the installation wasn't nearly as easy as the other reviews suggest. I guess this is why they sell these online and not in the store so you can see the cheap quality of the item. I hope this thing last as long as it says but I'm very doubtful.
