Purchased as a replacement for same for my QNAP TS-220 NAS
These hard drives are made for 24hr use in a Network Hard Drive systems. Well manufactured to stand the rugged environment of 24/7 abuse. Highly recommended.
I was looking for a 4TB hard drive with good rating on reliability, the search lead to a WD Black. Ordered one from Amazon, but it was a DOA. Returned it, decided to try WD Red from WalMart.com. It was smooth installation and tested out good. Highly recommended.
I don't question why it went bad in the first place
These drives replaced 8 year old failing 5TB drives in an 8 bay RAID 6 configuration, used for daily backups and streaming media server. They are quiet and have performed flawlessly. I have been using WD drives for years (RE, SE and now RED).
Good product and best deal in town
I'm building a Nas and these were a good bang for the buck.
These two 4 TB WD Red drives went into a Synology 216+II NAS also purchased through Jet. I expect years of trouble free service from WD brand drives. Never had one fail yet. I bought this to replace a failing disk in a WD MyCloud Pro PR-4100 NAS, in RAID5 configuration. Never once did I lose access to data, and the rebuild, while it necessarily took a long time, required little or no attention.
