This unit replaced our first WeBoost (at least 8 years old!), and with the improved technology, we went from nothing (including cell phone) without any booster, to spotty but slow internet with the previous model, to now getting 4G, high-speed, consistent connection with the 4G-X RV. Very impressed that we can be camping on Padre Island in weak service, and 'working' online with super fast speeds! This upgrade is going to expand our horizons of where we can RV to for extended amounts of time!
The purchasing experience was simple and easy. The folks were great. Since I have a Toy Hauler, there is no ladder for the usual antenna mounting. I added a piece of conduit to the rear ramp latch rods to make an antenna mount. This also provided a method of raising the antenna 42" when stationary. At home with a signal of 75 dB, the booster added 15 dB providing 90 dB to the phone inside the trailer. We travel to a lot of remote locations and as long as there is a signal to boost, quality is greatly improved. However, keep in mind, if there is no signal, boosting zero is still zero. All the equipment supplied is well made and appears very durable.
Installed the weBoost Drive 4G-X RV in our motorhome. I was tired of getting to a location only to find I had little or no service available in the campsite. This product improves our cell phone and data capabilities to make them usable again. Having a job that requires constant internet connection, this cell phone booster gave me the peace of mind to work on the road. It was easy to install and has worked great for our needs.
As much as I'd like to rate it to the top of the list, truth being, I've yet to use it.....j
Not much for comments, however this cell booster, I have the Drive 4GX-RV does just that. Installed in August and now it's September 27th,2018 with 3500 miles clicked off from Fairbanks, AK to Greeley,Colorado. Sure there's a lot of obvious no service stretches but having much more connectivity than any of the past 3 years without the Weboost. Proving itself most of the time but threre are those times that really make me go wow. For instance a city park outside the middle of somewhere in Saskatchewan. Camphost greets us and we yap a bit, yea you don't get any cell service here, oh well. Settled into our campsite, dinner relax what have you and amazingly enough, service! Not great by any means but texts and mail slowly came through. There it is. Was I skeptical? Yes, but not anymore.
Just finished installing the new cell phone booster. Have not tested it on a trip yet but in my driveway without the booster on -106 DB with it on -79 DB and a gain of 2 bars. One caveat, I mounted the antenna on the RV ladder but had to add extra washers to the included u-bolt as the threads ended before the nuts could properly tighten the bracket. Also I added a rocker switch to the booster 12V. hard wired adapter circuit so I would not have to keep turning it off by unplugging the power port. I was able to fish the outdoor antenna cable through the refrigerator roof vent and pull it into a wire channel so no holes were drilled in the skin. looking forward to using it on our upcoming trip from Alaska to Georgia.
I purchased a weBoost for my car/truck and was happy with the results. I then bought the Drive X for my RV. The signal meter app I downloaded for free shows a 100x improvement in signal strength. I haven't dropped a call yet.
As location independent entrepreneurs who work full-time from the road, our weBoost Drive 4G-X RV is a vital component of our networking toolbox. We must have connectivity wherever we go, and we prefer camping way off the grid. As we are currently traveling through Canada and Alaska, we have found ourselves in beautiful spots with no service on our phones...until we turned on our weBoost! We've seen the status on our iPhones go from no bars to three bars.
I had the outside antenna professionally installed. And . connected the other elements myself. When done plugged it in and got the green light so that I knew that it was installed properly. When I turn it on and off I get very little difference in my cell service, at most one bar.
I bought this l about a week ago an tried it this weekend up near our campground and it didn't seem to make much difference in service. Was no difference between it turned off or on. Seemed to work a little bit on my phone but not the wife's phone and they are the exact same phones
