If I can find more of these, I will buy 5 more, that how much I like them. The one I bought was a Scepter spout. You have to watch out, the one I bought was a course thread, these fit on my old cans. The new cans have fine thread.
Terrible product and hard to hold weight with forever flow it takes too long. I spilled a ton of gas. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
DO NOT BUY,you will regret it.I bought the 5 gallon gas can that has this spout and have spilled more gas in the last 2 months than I did with my old gas can in 10 years.
This piece of junk does not work. I got gas all over the place and it never worked right. I ended up getting replacement spouts for all of my new gas cans. Very bad design.
Bought replacement spouts because 2 were leaking and guess what, the replacement is probably worse than the original. I would avoid Briggs and Statton gas cans. There seem to be better (not great) choices as none of the spouts work well.
We just bought B&S gas can a couple of hours ago, with the so called Smart Fill Spout, and within 2 seconds of using (with new gas in can), it broke. Now we have to drive an hour to take it back to Walmart, with fuel, and get a replacement. Ugh.
1. NO instructions 2. Very hard for Senior Cit to use (stiff, hard to move moving parts 3. You have to hold the can up, turn the green thing, then hold it back (and you can't do that while holding in the air)and then aim the outlet into the mower gas intake hole. All without dropping the can and hoping it doesn't leak again from the back. 4. But I was able to fill the mower six times before mine broke.
This gas can spout is a pain to use and then causes you to spill more gas than you get into your mower. I wound up having to use my gas can without any spout at all because this was the only spout stores around me were selling. If you buy this, I can pretty much guarantee you will regret it.
These spouts are an awful design. I understand spouts need to be capable of not spewing fuel by using some form of locking system, but these are awful... I purchased a new can with this spout last month and my goodness, I couldn't believe the frustration of trying to fill up my weedeater each time. You have to hold the freaking spout open to even get gas into the tank, plus hold the weedeater up at the same time. It is only a 1.5 gallon can, but still, it's too much to try and work with when the can is full. Plus a weedeater tank takes very little fuel... Do yourself a favor and stay far away from these kinds of spouts.
Walmart no longer sells these horrible gas cans and spouts in their stores. These spouts seem require 3 hands to use, and the seal with the can often leaks all over while you use the spout. I have also had the mechanism of the spout break, causing an uncontrolled gusher of explosive gasoline all over my tractor. I am waiting for a recall so I can get rid of these expensive, poorly designed fuel containers and spouts.
