I received this and got busy using it. I make greeting cards and cut my own card stock. I cut 12 at a time and it cut perfectly. Very sharp. The safety features are great. Locking blade, rail guard and finger rest is a must.. The guillotine handle is very easy to hold and non slipping. The grid is easy to read on wood tone board. So happy to own this. I bought this to make inserts for my Happy planner and for scrap booking. This is an awesome paper trimmer extremely we'll made. The arm is nice and tight it stays up on its own. The whole thing is nice and light weight. It has both inch and centimeter measurements across the top, a very nice guard in front of the blade, and a nice rubber grip handle on the blade. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
At first, wanted to get rid of the 'green plastic thing', but was 'not removable'. However, it did end up being useful in holding the paper down and keeping fingers farther from the SHARP slicer/blade. No struggle in pushing down the slicer/blade, really does cut (easily) 30 sheets of paper, liked how the measuring lines went the whole length and sat solid on the table and didn't slip around. This Westcott 12: woodbase guillotine carbotitanium paper cutter is great. It is just the right size, not too big, heavy or cumbersome. It cut sharp and made my projects so much easier than the small slide cutter I have been using.
It's very well crafted, the table is strong, the cutting arm has a nice feel to the hand with a sturdy blade delivering that precision cut, a crafty stylish appearance and surprisingly lite in weight

I purchased this product at the beginning of the school year for my students to use with science fair. It worked great until the hinge fell apart. I would be willing to buy a replacement hinge if there was one available.
