I purchased this item to cure my handmade soaps in. This item is wonderful and that fact that it has adjustable temps means I can cure my soaps at the perfect temp, and what used to take months to do now takes a day to cure. Most handmade soaps take 2-3 months of sitting and air drying for curing. Some soaps can take up to a year or more. Now I can have beautiful soaps ready for customers in a matter of a few days. Absolutely love this, wonder why I did not purchase one sooner.
I have purchased a dehydrator in the past and had to return it because it just did not do the job. I did hesitate buying this one at first, but after reading reviews all on the web I decided I would give this one a try. This dehydrator is the BEST. In the last two weeks I have used it almost everyday to dehyrdrate the veggies and fruit I have in my garden, and even made very healthy treats for my dogs. I love this dehydrator and highly recommend this. Thanks for the great product.
It would have been nice to get the tray that makes the yogurt and fruit leather. That was disappointing.
Works well , fan does have a little more noise then I expected
lacks ability to hold smaller items, need to include or offer mesh screens for trays. does the job. my nuts keep falling thru.
I have only dehydrated zucchini so far, but the product exceeded my expectations. The fan is very quiet. I had a 4-tray with fan in the bottom previously. I much prefer the upgrade to 10 trays and the fan in the back. Drying is more consistent and there is no swapping trays around to assist the product in its effort.
The Good: Its big. It held 8 lbs of beef (before dehydration) to make jerky. The bad: Actually there is no bad, there is an inconvenience. The meat in the back closest to the fan gets dehydrated first so you have to rotate the meat or take out the back meat first. Other than that we've made two batches and they came out great.
Price is right, good values I may say. But the unit requires some serious improvement on how the air enter the unit, how it can create a more even air flow to the 10 trays, and how the air exits the unit in particular. I can see serious flaws that the front part of the tray are not drying food properly because the air are led to the both sides so the middle is not evenly dried. Durability, I am not sure at this time. But the plastic trays are not too convincing. Appearance is excellent, but this is not for look, functionally inadequate is my problem. I hope the manufacturer could improve the unit further before they release it to the public. I had a Rounded one, which is absolutely better design. Dry very evenly, faster drying time.
takes way to long to do fruit, its kind of noisy, the controls or on the top in the back so you cant put it on the counter under the cabinets, pretty sure its going back to walmart
I was totally unimpressed with this dehydrator. The holes in the bottom of the tray are so large that pieces of food fall through, also there are no sides on the trays. When you stir the food for even drying it is impossible to keep pieces on the trays. If you don't stir the food, the items near the back dry while the ones near the front have not even begun to dry. I intend to return mine. Nesco is more usable.
