I absolutely love this television stand, it is a very high quality stand and everyone who comes to visit me asks me where I got it. It has the wood trim and is very sturdy. It looks GREAT with my new 55 inch TV mounted on it. This is the 2nd television stand I've purchased at Walmart and I couldn't be happier. They have great quality television stands and great service.
WalMart loaded it into a trailer( a minivan would work ) and back at home I gently accessed the box and removed the parts assembled in an hour. The stand is more than I actually expected when assembled. When set up it is very sturdy and eye candy. In my opinion the stand would appear to have been double the price paid. The winning ticket here is the design ,beauty and portability, with top glass that weighs 35- 40lbs, the rest is less than 20lbs. It can be easily taken apart and set back up. Thanks for the prompt delivery and customer service at my local walmart. I have yet to use the tv on it. The glass has some waves in the black coloring Ill see if Whalen can help me with this, but I would give this 6 stars out of 5. Buy It! without hesitation. I would also like to add that I am not an impulse buyer and have almost as much money running from store to store trying to find a similar product. Buy It.
well built a TV stand!very sturdy nice sleek look and you gotta love the swivel!
The produce is attractive and of high quality material (glass and wood). There are 3 option for assembly - Table Top, Wall Mount and Swinging Floater. My space called for table top. Assembly was extremely easy due in large part to the packing and labeling of all parts, as well as, bolts, nuts, washers, etc. I highly recommend this product.
This tv stand is worth the low price that I got it for, it is very nice and sturdy doesn't look cheap, we have our tv hanging on the stand and it looks great!!
For the last year I had been renovating my basement into a Mancave and finally got to the point where I ordered my 60 inch Plasma and needed a TV stand to support it. I did extensive searching on all the major retailer’s sites until I came across this one and made my decision to purchase it. This stand incorporated everything I wanted; a floating TV, ways to conceal the cords, couple shelves and one that holds my 60 inch. Most stands you find in stores didn’t go that high. After placing the order here on Walmart.com, I did the site to store shipping because of it being free as I was in no rush. It said it would take 7-10 business days and it arrived on Day 7. Pick-up was very easy at the store and I’m glad I read other people’s reviews on the weight of the box, as it took me and a friend to lift it into the car and down my stairs. Building was easy and directions were self explanatory. After I got it up however is when I ran into a problem. Once everything was together I noticed that the “XYZ” bracket (as it’s called in the directions) was crooked. It was nearly three inches off and appeared to be welded that way, so instead of tearing everything apart and taking it back, I proceeded to put the TV brackets on the back of the TV and mount it to see if there was anything I could do. Once the TV was up, you could clearly tell it was crooked, so I readjusted the brackets on the back of the TV to off-set the “XYZ” mounting frame and it took care of the problem, except 1/16th of an inch, but you wouldn’t know it unless you literally used a level and measured—so I was okay with it. The second problem I noticed after it was together was when running the cables through the spine. It is big enough to run a coax cable and an HDMI and a few more, but you can’t even feed the power plug from the TV through the spine. On top of that, there are holes on the back of the spine to feed down and to every shelf, but NO holes on the front to feed to and from your components (PS3, Wii, Cable box, Surround Sound Receiver, etc)--meaning you have to put the cords as close to the spine as you can and then feed it down. At first I thought my spine was wrong so I went on Whalen’s official website and saw that they had a stand very similar to mine with the holes in the front and back so I called and asked if they could interchange spines and they said “no, they’re designed for each stand”. They did however apologize for the crooked “XYZ” bracket and shipped me a brand new one for free. After spending the time to hook up all my components and hide as much of the cords as possible, I had to use a few zip ties down the back of the spine for the TV power cord and the Wii, and then I fed the rest through the spine itself and was very happy with how it turned out. If you’re looking for a good quality, sturdy stand for a big or even littler TV, this is what you want. Make sure you make arrangements for someone to help carry the box as it is heavy, but I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for one. You could spend upwards of $500 for a stand to fit a large TV like mine and I was very happy with the $200 price tag. On a side note, I was disappointed other reviews didn’t have pictures, so I’ve included two of them to show you what it looks like finished in a room with components.
I would rate this 10 stars if I could. This has an all wood Dark Cherry front on a very sturdy steal frame - It is well built and looks RICH! Of all the stands I have looked at this is the best value. Not only is it priced right - it is incredibly strong - no risk of shelves bowing in the center - and it secures the TV. It is the tallest of any of the stands I have seen so if you have to have your TV High off the ground and maximum space between the top shelf and the TV - this is your set - it would be a bargain at TWICE the price. If you are on the fence about buying a stand - do not give it a second thought - THIS is your stand - buy it with confidence - it arrives in excellent condition. Be aware this stand is heavy! I hope this helps you in your search.
this tv stand is beautiful love it. The only problem I had was that the delivery guy left it at the 1st floor and the box was so heavy that I had to open it downstairs and bring the parts apart. What made the package heavy was the glass. The assembly is easy one person can build it.
I had purchased a wooden tv stand to set my 80+ lb tv on. After a short while the wood began to sink in the middle. When I saw this TV stand it looked pretty neat and it stated that it was able to handle the weight of my flat screen TV. Every store in my area was sold out of this unit, so I had to purchase it online and have it delivered. Warning this is one heavy awkward box. Most of the weight comes from the glass shelves. I thought this unit looked fairly simple in its construction but once i opened the box I was greeted by a large bag of little screws, nuts, bolts, washers, suction cups etc. (i about gave up before i started) TIP get a socket set it was save you time and headache instead of using the included dinky wrench. Also the directions are sorta confusing since this unit can be constructed 3 different ways. The pictures in the booklet are not very detailed. Once everything was assembled I was pleased with the end result. Do yourself a favor -get someone to help you hang your TV. TIP there are little rubber stops on the end of the rails that the tv "slides on to " this tv does not hang on the unit like a picture. "directions dont explain that very well. Also there isnt a very good way to hide all the wires - i thought that the metal bar would allow space to run wires inside....nope.... But im sharing all of this so that some of you may save the headaches that I had. dont get me wrong, i am happy with the finished product . Good Luck ~!
I am very happy with the stand as a whole, fit and finish is good, with adequate space for stereo and DVR equipement...my only complaint is that when using the tall spine to hold the TV,there are no "isolators" between the TV and the fixture...this resulted in a resonence we didn't have when the TV was on it's pedastal....It may be specific only to our LG, but the metal back of the TV emitts an audible "tinniness" now that it's suspended by the hanger...I may install some rubber bushings between the bracket and the TV mount points. A handsome addition to any room.
