As the review title implies, we bought this fridge to replace a Samsung fridge and couldn't be happier! From day one, this fridge has blown Samsung's comparable French Door Fridge out of the water. Everything just works. From the overall roominess, to the layout/configuration of the shelves, to the water dispenser and ice maker. The ice cubes are smaller than previous fridges we've owned, but we quickly grew to love their size. Mainly because the ice cubes don't get clogged (so no leaking/dripping) and the cubes dispense quickly. We've only had the fridge for a few weeks, but since it's American made, we feel confident that if something does go wrong, the available parts, and qualified technicians familiar with Whirlpool fridges, won't be hard to find. We've had this refrigerator for a little over a week and are very pleased! Aesthetically it is beautiful with the streamlined front display (temp controls on the inside of door), and the stainless trim on the front of the shelves inside. Functionally there is way more space and smarter organization than our last French door refrigerator from another brand. I love that the crisper drawers are 2 different sizes to allow for larger veggies like celery stalks and heads of lettuce or cauliflower. Also, the ice cubes are so small and cute, you don't even need to crush them. The ice dispenser works quickly too! The measured fill and favorite fill features are very convenient, something I didn't even know I wanted! We are very happy with our purchase and hope it lasts a very long time! We have had this refrigerator for about two weeks. Prior to this we had a fullsize Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. I was so nervous that I would not have enough space in this refrigerator...but there is SO MUCH SPACE!!! I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The bottom freezer has taken some getting use to, but the niceness of the french door refrigerator portion has made up for it. Also, this refrigerator makes the best ICE! Similar to other reviews, we bought this to complete our appliances in a new home. The door handles are uneven which doesn't seem like a huge deal, but I notice it all the time. More importantly, the ice maker is broken on our frig as well. Huge clumps of ice pile up and leave water everywhere. Now we have warped hardwood floors in front of the frig. We have turned off the ice and pulled everything out. The tray is flimsy and cracked in half. We haven't gotten a replacement yet, but assume it will break as well due to the low quality. It is also quite loud. It seems to always be buzzing? It does look nice, but the problems shouldn't be happening.
Plenty of room in the refrigerator section and the black stainless is attractive and easy to keep clean. Inside drawer alignment should be compatible with the split door so you don't have to open both doors to open drawers. Nice clear drawers. Sliding shelf allows for taller items. Once doors are loaded with food, they are very heavy and slam with a loud bang. Ice maker is sufficient for only two people in a household. Don't count on it for a party or to accommodate a family. It also shoots out 5 or 6'extra cubes on the floor after you take away cup. Pizza slot in freezer drawer is a nice idea, however it needs to be and adjustable pocket. If other foods slide into pocket, they can freeze solid and get stuck resulting in having to defrost entire freezer. Top freezer drawer slides off track and food falls behind door making it impossible to close. Freezer drawer does not seal properly and gets full of frost. We have had this fridge for a year and a half and hate it! Shelves DO NOT remove easily for cleanup, Ice maker is small and if is not used daily becomes one solid block of ice, water dispenser is worn and looks terrible and old! Drawers for veggies and meats do not slide properly and never have. For the money it cost sorely disappointed!

Within the 1.5 years we have owned the fridge, we have had to have a technician out 3-4 different times. The ice maker quit working, we have had countless issues with the control panel freaking out (for example, it kept changing set temps for the freezer and fridge). Now the latest, is it quit working at all. Came home to water all over the kitchen floor where the ice in the bin had melted (not to mention all of the food in the fridge was barely cool). Freezer quit working too and food had started to thaw. I would not recommend this fridge to my worst enemy. Good news is, I have made a new friend in the technician that has to keep coming to my house :0)
